well, I am not going to call you names, but you NEED to grow up, I used to be like that, and I know the rush, but the insurance and the tickets catch up to you. not to mention the fact that the road is posted at 35 mph for a REASON, it doesn't matter if you agree with it. everyone on this forum probably goes 5-10 over fairly often, but at 93 or 53 in a 35, you are risking other peoples lives, I don't care about you, I care about the people you could kill if you hit a sandy patch and headlong into a house or oncoming car. My strong advice, is grow up.

I wouldn't brag about your illegal activities, much less expect respect from any adult minded person. Street-racing your wife is illegal, and even dumber than the topic at hand, since now you have 2 people not paying proper attention to the surroundings intent on the competition, making you more likely to hurt an innocent person or plow into a car, how would it feel to watch someone, maybe even your wife die, and live with that guilt? I especially hope you don't have kids since if they were with one or both of you, which would be careless disregard for your childrens safety, if you get pulled over doing all that the state could make a case to take your kids if it was more than one offense, if they don't get them anyway if you go to jail.... what are you willing to give up for your rush?

case in point, if an off duty cop was there, then the road wasn't deserted, and that means you obviously didnt if know the road was deserted prior to attempting to kill yourself.

...Yes, we have kids.....No, they weren't with us......

This was done @ 3am.....roads were DESERTED.....nobody even on the same road, much less any cross traffic....it was 3am in a small town.....

Yes, street racing in illegal.....Yes, we were pulled over.....NO, neither one of us got a ticket.....NO, the cop wasn't off duty, he just didn't wanna do the paperwork......

We were endangering nobody's lives, except possibly our own. We know how to drive, we're not some 18 y.o. punks with rice burners that THINK they know how to drive....We both KNOW how to drag race, and road race...we've BOTH been on the track before, and know what we are doing.....it is TRUE that a public road IS NOT the place for it, but what can we say 'it just happened'.....sorry.

Ryan

the only place i speed ridiculously like that is bufu-surrounded-by-corn backroads and the interstate, but with 4.56 gears, i more or less get goverened at 65 unless i want to watch the gas guage drop incredibly fast. :( it used to be so fun to cruise at 105-110 depending on when the governor would kick in.

haha dude I just got rid of my 94 explorer... I got 2 tickets that were total bull SH**...

one was a "47 in a 30" when I was coasting at about 40mph, being passed by a ricer!!!! so I get that ticket...

the next one was on the highway, I was doin about 65 in the middle of three lanes, again being passed, and I got pulled over for doing "81 in a 55" and the fart head cop said he timed me between two traffic lights, when I only went through one....

flubbin cops and making their lousy quotas....

I just got a 97 mustang GT and I got a warning in that.... wtf... I passed an old fart...

O well everyone just don't kill someone

George

I just love reading about these people who get tickets on a "deserted" road.
They havent got a clue. "Well, I didnt see anybody". (Just the cop)

he he he.... yeah... usually when I book down deserted roads there are literally no one around, and I cruise in unincorporated parts of town so there is a 1% chance of a po po being there....

my best one yet was I was on the highway goin 120 in my mustang... cop passed with the speed gun goin the other way, he was gone in like a second and there was a concrete barrier in between us... I was racin my buddy's evo 8...

fastest I had my explorer up to was 95, I think? I was about 10mph past the top of the speedo... needless to say I didn't do it again...

I just can't wait to go to the track...

George

Edited as not to start a flame war....let's just say that kind of move isn't your shining moment......

yea speedings stupid i learnt my lesson 85 in 65 just got my licence back ohios a b**ch about tickits but one time i ran my explorer past 105 beacese i passed a freind that was doing that and all i can say is that was stupid, its and explorer not a race car i know from experience, take it off road insted of speeding its funner anyway,

93 in a explorer = screming metal death trap
93 in a explorer whith firstones = gun to head and pull trigger

HOLY MACARONI!!!

All I have to say about this is "stupid". I volunteer as an EMT on an ambulance and I think about every accident I have ever seen when I drive. 83 in a 35......DUMB. Ever seen a car or truck wrapped around a tree? Or the driver or passenger ejected 200 feet down the road? How about trapped under the dashboard because of no seatbelt and head on into a tree? I guarantee, you ride on an ambulance and pull to a call and see a 17 y/o or any age for that matter, crushed and dead because they felt the urge to speed on an empty back road, and you will think twice about speeding next time. I admit I do speed at times myself, but after 6 years and countless DOA's, I have slowed up a lot. Good luck with your driving and I hope to never have to pick you up with the ambulance. :fire:

that is rather dumn...but we have all had our "im a moron momments" i have done 103 ish in my explorer and i will never do it again....I was on a deserted highway. Honestly i dont like driving a truck more then 85. And as for the derr part i have had deer walk down the center of the road twoard me before....dumbasses. But you are damn luckey you did not get a bigger ticket.

after 4 years and countless DOA's i still speed....ever run into a burning building and realize "oh ****! i'm never gonna cook bacon on the stove ever again!" or realize "oh no! no more playing basketball cause i might snap my tib-fibs..." the list goes on and on
jnc...ppl die every day for stupid reasons, and yeah speeding is a dumb thing to do, but he knows that, as a fellow emergency services professional i thank you for caring so much but bro, life is about living!
"it all comes down to living fast or dying slow!!" -REK

Now now, you cant bite his head off. everybody has done it at least once i dont care who you are! unfortunately i have done it three times and got caught. not that serious of course but enough to get my license suspended for 90 days. :fire: worst 3 months of my life and im only 18. cant do it anymore, i live to drive. the thing that sucks about ohio is that anything 20 over the limit is wreckless op and that is a guaranteed suspension. i dont know how it is anywhere else. it payed off to have a cousin married to a lawyer though.

Just a question....I guess you guys would consider drag racing two fire trucks stupid also!!!!!
Just kidding. I do not live in a glass house but I am not gonna throw stones, but I definitely do not buy the only people I could hurt is myself line. I enjoy to exceed the speed limit every once in a while just like everyone else but there can be a time or place. My slow down lesson came about ten years ago when I ran a mva call with fatality. This kid was driving a Z-28 at an estimated (i say est. because it is based purely on eyewitness accounts) 125mph when he lost control and bounced from guard rail to tree and so on for several hundred feet. We spent thirty minutes making sure we had found all his body parts. When the cops went hat in hand to his parents house his dad had a heart attack. SO moral of the story is your actions can AND will affect other people. I have been in emergency services for twelve years and although it has slowed me down some I still enjoy V8 power.
I just believe there is a time and place for everything

i've been pulled over 4 times... gotten 4 warnings...
first time it was late at night so the speed limit dropped from 70(day) to 65(night) and I was going 73ish... cop pulled me over told me it was night time and slow down a bit...

2nd time i was goin 80 in a 70 and had 2 kegshells in the back and 3 college age guys in the car with me... We were all sober... going to a party a couple hours away... cant believe the guy let me off... he had a real hard ass appearance

3rd was 60ish in a 45 in big bend national park... dont really have an excuse... just easy to get going pretty fast on those roads when i'm not using the cruise control... ranger let me off mentioning that the money from tickets doesnt go to the park.... i put $20 in the donation booth in the ranger station...

hten the 4th time just recently i was on the highway and the speed limit dropped from 70 to 45 for a town... and i was coasting down to 45... apparently not fast enough... the guy said he clocked me at 62 in a 45... and that i needed to slow down as i approached the sign, not after i passed it.

my trick.... oral sex... gets me out of the ticket every time....

HAHAHA just kidding!

i really dont know how i do it... i'm just always extremely curteous and respectful...

i kinda think that having a california license and Texas plates might have something to do with it...

in Ohio I still have my michigan plate and i live in ohio. The cops give me funny looks but that is another story. In my town their are 28 cops in a town of 20k. They are evreywere i am just cautious go 5-10 over and i never get pulled.

gotta say the dumbest thing i did in my ex was make it 30 miles(begining of I-55 from lake shore drive to my towns exit(almost 30 miles) in 18 minutes with light traffic(12am) in a slight mist. i mapquested and did the math and i averaged 93mph. (this takes into account the running start getting on the interstate on ramp(clock start) and getting off(clock stop) and i was riding the governor most of the way(105-110) i'm lucky i didnt get caught, and i wouldnt do it again... unless there was money involved. :D not even gonna lie. i had fun and there were no consequences to speak of, but... i hate to get my truck about 70 now because wasting fuel isnt fun unless you at least get the speed rush out of it.

Moral: if you have a speeding problem, get bigger tires and bigger gears. :)

well, i just gotta outta jail, BEAT THAT haha

Poor guy probably feels like shi* right now. I cant say i havent done the odd 110 mph on the empty highway once and awhile and i regularly go 10 over the limit. Cut the guy a break guys, i am damn sure you sped like that before. I dont wanna hear, oh your just as stupid, cuz i really dont care. Anyways i love my State troopers and cops, yes i am a teen and i love cops. HA!! lol
