Supercharged 2002 Ex/Mounty

have you guys seen the new issue of SUV magazine? there's 3 tricked out (2 supercharged) new (2002) explorers and one supercharged 2002 mounty- all sharp looking trucks.....and the author has some pretty kind and encouraging words about modifyed explorers ..........

I got this from another post, but does anybody know what magazine this guy (STAN) was talking about?? I went to Barnes and Noble today and couldn't find any magazine with supercharged 2002 Ex's/Mounty's (it has to be the 4.6 versions). Is it called SUV magazine, or do any of you know a link to their website? I really want to see that article Thanks

The cover shot they are showing on the web site is not the issue you are looking for. The current issue has a bright yellow '02 X with a chrome prerunner bar and blue flames.

cool thanks a lot, I want to see what they used on the trucks to get an idea of what to do when I get my 02' Mounty, that 4.6 is a sweet engine and I want to see what charger other stuff they used. That thing has to be quick as hell cause the 02's w/ 4.6 are quicker than the 5.0 stock.

the mag didn't give much info on the chargers, but there are 3 in that issue with them. Looks like KenneBell is adapting a Mustang kit to fit the Xs; gonna be sold anytime soon?

I have that issue. Fact is, the Explorers aren't all that great on the outside. The red one is OK. I like the silver Mounty the most.

I didn't buy the issue, just scanned it at the book store, but I liked the Yellow X and the Mounty. I would never own either (can't afford the one I have) but definatley cool.

I think it might be the KenneBell b/c I was looking at the new Truckin Magazine (not the one with X/Mounty, unless I missed those sections and it had a new KenneBell charger ad (twin screw types right? kinda like Whipple?) for the 4.6 V8. Your right about the Mustang thing b/c it looked a lot like the Kennebell for the Mustang. I'm definitley not putting a charger on it right when I get it, but every other bolt on I'll do. Honestly Ford makes the best V8 engines b/c I've yet to see another V8 or really any other engine that responds to mods as well as the 4.6 and 5.0.

Got the issue myself today.......really interested in the headers for the V-6

just picked up the mag at the mall today! Very nice, the only Explorer I didn't like was the red and black one, I think they should have painted the whole truck the black color that they have on the top part and had the same rims in black instead of red, that would look pretty mean. The Mounty they have in there is awsome, it looks so smooth and clean, I'm still trying to find a mineral-grey 02 4.6 but that silver is nice.

Are you talking about the new Ford Explorer Tremor Ed.? I saw it on Autoweek the other day. Looked kickass.

There isn't a Tremor, it's 3 Explorers and 1 Mounty (very sweet) all 02's, 1 Ex has the 4.0 and the other 2 Ex's and the Mounty have KenneBell superchargers (the mounty runs 0-60 in 5.6 and has Silver Streak embroidered into the Katzkin leather seats it looks very tight)

I remember the Explorer Tremor concept from a few years ago, it had the dohc 4.6 and looked like a mix between the 02's and last gen pretty menacing. I hope Ford is interested in that truck and maybe produces it if there showing it at shows. I remeber the numbers they gave a few years ago were 0-60 under 6sec. and a top speed around 140-150. Nice
