My methanol kit uses a 1 way solenoid so that vacuum cannot Suck the methanol in the intake you wire it in parallel with the pump so when the pump kicks on the solenoid opens Here's a link
There are 2 kinds 1 with AN fittings and 1 with compression fittings For the nylon line

We noticed a drastic increase In cooling after we put it behind the blower

Putting it in front of the throttle plate does make it easier however not as effective The numbers don't lie

right after i posted i remembered you can buy those. i may look into that more once its running and see what my iat's are like before and after the meth kit starts spaying. right now i dont want to add more then i have to, to see what this is going to do.

so close.....
went to the folks for mothers day.....and to watch the winnipeg jets get the ass handed to them, boooooo.
came home, dove it. first thing, i found that holley must make this base a little different then a production lower intake. when i went to put they pulley bracket on there is one bolt that goes into the thermostat housing that didnt want to line up with the hole in the bracket. after making the hole into a notch there is also a spacer that goes in between the bracket and housing. now the spacer was too long. going to see how happy that bracket will be without that one bolt. ive seen it flex pretty good so i have to keep a close eye on it. to my surprise as well, all my plug wires reached with no problems, except number 2 was a inch short. no biggie, i have a ton of spares. put the intake elbow on. its very close to the wiper motor harness, but should be ok.
tomorrow i will begin my "will it fit or not" belt search. once i find that, the rad, hoses, trans lines can be put back in, fill with antifreeze and some small stuff and it can be fired up. hopefully i didnt jinx myself saying that.

know what they say about close. it only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades'. cant throw a horse at evil, so that only leaves one thing.....also read the very last sentence on my last post. yea. that.
started off by trying to find a belt. 3 trips to the parts store and swapping 2 pulleys out. also a big time waster was the pulley bracket. i never notice it before but it was hitting one bolt on the water pump not allowing it to fit perfect. clearanced that, then the thermostat housing was now hitting it. ugh. clearance that as well. now the pulleys stat too far back. after a hour of screwing with that, and the belt for another hour, figured the rad and hoses can go in. followed that with coolant when i hear that o so familiar sound of liquid running out of the block, and onto the ground. so glade i made my tuning appointment for next week.
i made a call to james the guy that originally tried to get it running for me to see if he could set up the vacuum pump for me. came by, added the inputs and outputs in the tune, then scaled it but it would not work right, but it was coming on so that was something. he had also pointed out something was up with my map sensor ( i have grown to love problems that exist that never did when you first started). after checking a few things he found the sensor ground was not correctly grounded. i also figure thats whats causing my map to read wrong as well. after he found that, pump clicks on when it is suppose to. but will bounce on and off when it reaches its target. first thing i think of is when 4pointslow posted about there being a valve in that vacuum ball.
so now the intake has to come off, put new gaskets on with that goop i used before (heads must be warped or somethings funny for it to do the same thing with 2 different intakes. find a new reservoir for the vacuum pump, find the back ground but i think i know what happen with that.
so happy to be outside in the 90F weather before the humidex all day long with little to no shade said no one ever.

Well Maybe the jets will beat the stars today
As an avalanche fan I’m rooting for all the teams that are not Dallas
Keep it up! Crazy contraption just refuses to go together on the first go around

jets won the other night, back to dallas and hopefully win there to tie it up.
got the intake off night the night before last. it came off way to easy. as in not hard to get at and unbolt, but to pry it off. most of the bolts on the drivers side we not even tight either. once off, there were no signs of impressions in the gaskets even. i also found my broken sensor ground, right were i expected it, where all my grounds branched off. fixed that with a crimp and some heat shrink. last night i put the intake back on. this time using arp bolts, and not what ever work had in the bolt bin. once again started off in a x pattern, after the 3 go around i noticed that the drivers side still wouldn't stay torqued, so i did it the way you really arent suppose to. back to front. started with the passengers side, all good after the first pass, the drivers side was being stubborn again. i think i redid it 4 times then walked away for the night. also buttoning up a few small things i could. went out fast when i came home from work to give the drivers side another check over, still was out, but not by much. btw i am torqueing the bolts to 25 lbs. also the last few days was like a crematorium outside. today....., today rain, and wear a coat. tomorrow, they are calling for snow.
yes, i said snow.
welcome to may long in manitoba. if there is a possibility i get a break in the weather, i will look over the intake one more time, then fill it with water. if that holds, put the blower on then smoke it. if that is happy, will put it back together and hope nothing else goes wrong.

Think its the gasket material that keeps compressing? I'm sure you wanted to vomitt blood when the coolant started pouring out of the motor.

Frieken snowing right now. :-(

it will compress to a point then stop. but i have never had it do the same thing twice to the same motor. i overheated this motor once last summer with the fans broke, but i am trying to remember if i did it any other time. i did also overheat the other motor more then once due to the fans also not coming on but never had this problem. ill go out later and check it once more to see how much if any they backed off.
and yes, i wasnt impressed.
great weekend for a scream in the mustang however! 🤣

Go jets! Push to Game 7!!! Game 6 in Dallas = nail biter

Go jets! Push to Game 7!!! Game 6 in Dallas = nail biter
there may be a problem with tonight's game however. one of our top players Mark Scheifele's father passed late last night, so if hes a scratch i dont think anyone will blame him.
in other news, i put all my hoses back on checked the torque on the bolts (this time they all were pretty much there) and dumped water into it. i also powered up the water pump. so far i havent seen any drips. i will let it sit a few more hours and see if the level dropped or if there is water on the ground.

And Scheifeie gets the first goal! Dad would be proud, you know I would want my son to be on the ice

Great goal!! Go jets

Dang stars tough team to beat. The jets were so close on a few shots. A good goalie can win the cup for his team.
Now back to trucks!!

Any coolant leaks?

My 2nd niece works for the Huntsville Havoc in the SPHL, Southern Professional Hockey League. (Huntsville Alabama).
Wednesday, we will be going to one of the grandson's graduation. It will be in the VBC Propst Arena. The workers are covering the ice with
some thick fiber board for the duration of all of the city and county graduation ceremonies. It will be quite comfortable in the arena.

on the bright side, i now have more time to work on evil, and the flipper that has been at a friends place since the end of march (i almost forgot i have it if it wasnt for the keys and tod sitting on my kitchen table).
she appeared to hold water as of last night. i drained it (thats what i had was just water in it), and will go outside in a while to work on it. still a little chilly. need to put the blower on then smoke it to make sure it holds air. yes, kinda paranode with it from the last go a round.

held water like i said. then came the smoke. didnt see any where there wasnt suppose to be any. fill it up again with coolant (level is still dropping be thats to be expected till it burps itself out). then try to fire it. it wasnt happy. at one point i didnt think it was getting spark. had that thought of what the hell did i do now.....looked at the voltage and was reading around 9.5. thought it sounded a tad slow cranking. now i get to try my boost points. worked like a charm!
cranks and cranks and cranks.....then tries firing. then cranks and cranks then fires up and runs like crap and stalls. try again, cranks, fires runs like crap then like a flip of a switch clears up and starts idling! yay! once again i forgot all the vaseline i used for the injectors and making the fuel lines.
then starts smoking.....like mosquito fogger smoke. only to remember there is probably a ton of baby oil in the cylinders from smoking it.
so the report card. one thing that made me real happy was how many volts it was displaying.

ever since ive had stroker motors in it, it has never made above 13.5/13.8 vols. granted the fans wernt on yet but still. i went to the back of the truck and hit the battery kill switch. it still ran and displayed 13.1 volts. nice. also dont worry about the oil pressure. it still needs to be rescaled (KOEO it reads -50). also has a hi idle. i am going to blame that on not doing a tps reset because i did have the tps off when i wanted to run the meth nozzle into the throttlebody.
and for the meth kit, today i found out that a snow meth, and aem nozzles are completely different. so this may be the problem i have with it not atomizing the way it should (my dumb, have the correct ones coming).
my vacuum pump is also not working the way it should. it will pulse like i was saying before. i am hoping the problem is with the vacuum ball and the way i drilled it. ran out to my friends place where my parts trucks are (same guy that pained evil, same guy that has my flipper parked at his place) and grabbed another ball. ever see in one of those?

sorry, a little blurry but its the best i could do holding a flash light in one hole, and shoving my phone in the other to take a picture. this is the valve that 4pointslow was talking about. i will take the new one and carefully drill the holes out or epoxy the fittings into the new ball.

she does need a little touch up on the tune however.

i remember this happening when dono was doing my tuning. i cant remember why but we had the timing retarded to something like 7 degrees. it was so hot it melted 2 heater boxes. its like this because i was having a hell of a time doing a cold start and this is the end result.
just need to finish a few small things and wait till friday comes so it can get tuned. but for now, YAY it runs. now on to helping a buddy fix his riding mower deck and bring the flipper here so i can get it fixed and for sale.

Nice voltage reading mine is the same way I can't get it above 13.5 on the computer
My one-way valve went bad inside the vacuum ball so I simply added a Dorman one-way valve up on the vacuum line a little

She runs!!! Hooray!!! Poor tmh hahaha put that jet hot coating to the test

Flipper hhahaha I love it I’ve called them “flip truck or Flippy” I will have to add “flipper” to my line up. It’s going to be a great summer

im trying to figure the voltage thing out. electronicky what changed was i had a Rockford Fosgate 1 Farad Capacitor that was in it since i put a stereo in it 18ish years ago, the alt wire goes to the boost point now (4pointslow had said i should change that to the fuse link by the power distribution block on the drivers inner fender), and the smallest power wire for anything in the truck not counting my amps is 1 gauge. 1 gauge wire from the battery box to the boost point is 1 gauge, going to the starter and alt is 0, and all grounds are 0. i dont care, just happy i have more then 13.1 volts reading with all the electronics that i have thrown into it. then again its not hot out right now so that may change.

doubtfully but you wouldnt have a part number or know how i can find a part number for that?

There is a one way vacuum valve on just about every ford we work on! You should be able to get one at work

i dont know where they would be located on anything, or on what modules. the only valve that i know of is the one on the brake booster.
