HI:

I have a 98 xlt xplorer, I am planing to do the body lift 3", shackles and tt, etc, etc & etc. I would like :D to put some 35" on her.

I have big plans for her, camping, ocacionally offroad, daily driver.

Something that I have been searching here is about making a tire carrier, I would like to put one after the shackles and body lift, but I would not like to put it on the roof neither inside the cargo area.

I like the swing tire carriers, but searching on the web, I found a swing DOWN tire carrier ( http://www.genright.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=RTC3200 ). I know this model is made for jeepos, but maybe this concept would work very well in a xplorer.

what do u think?

I made one that goes in the receiver hitch. It is nice to have but I will be going ith a swing out one as soon as I can afford it. I just have a 33 on there and it is heavy to lift back up. I couldn't imagine any bigger.

crazy idea... but could you use a spring to help get it back up? kind of like on garage doors. the door stays down on its own, but thanks to the help of the spring you can lift it back up even without the motor. if you could find a spring with a high enough spring constant that could stretch enough for this application..... just an idea:D
