Do you notice any performance difference with using synthetic?
No.
Do you notice any performance difference with using synthetic?
but depending on mileage, I change the filter, once midway between oil changes.....best regards Plum
I heard rumors that if you do it too late
Old wives tale. Make the switch.
Mobil 1 5W-20 Full Synth. Readily available at WalMart, often on-sale.
Although I don't currently use synthetic oil, if you believe the latest round of TV commercials, Castrol is being touted as outperforming Mobil 1. When looking at this subject on the Internet most articles seem to say that Amsoil is the best that you can get.
I used Mobil 1 about 30 years ago in my '81 Datsun 510 wagon when I was working shift for 6 years. I found it made a big difference in cold weather starting. Retired the Datsun 10 years later and haven't used synthetic since.

Before preforming a full synthetic oil change, do not crack your knuckles.
