Weld the rear diff or I will sell you a brand new Aussie locker for your rear diff for $200. I was going to put it in my ranger but it is now trailered so I am just going to weld it.

besides i would have to change the carrier anyways since the new x has a lsd in it already. and according to the website there on back order right now
 






60 days max if thats ok, if not, pm me...i am going to put up my 89 f-250 xcab 5.8 auto, which is actually a 1 ton, for sale since gas is coming down and if it don't sell i have a donor for a 5.8 and tranny swap, grunt grunt as tim allen would say, lmao...if i sell it it will give me play money for a sas perhaps and the locker in the rear would be perfect....
 






well, the good news is i made enough money yesterday and today to afford to pay for the gears and install :D

i should be getting gears in by the end of next week i'm hoping, then i can work on getting some money together for that locker..

rockranger, pm me sometime on your thoughts of meeting up or what for the exchange...i'm suppose to be going down by oceanside i think to also pick up a starter, thanks...
 






I am in OC alot so I can just bring it with me sometime and we can meet up. Also make sure you have an open carrier in the rear diff. If you have a L/S then you need to change the carrier or get a different locker. Just let me know when you are ready.
 






since my rear has been swapped i don't know if it is ls, or open...hmm...p.m. sent...
 












carlover, i'll take it...i am working on wiring traces right now and i'm praying when i look into my axles, they don't look like this mess, lol...if you don't need it yea, i'll take it just in case mine is ls...as i said, i'm not sure whats in the rear so far and it's a later project, after i get the 4wd working, thanks...;)
 












thats already on the same schedule as changing my front gears...:D thats why i verified gears without cracking either one open...now i was able to order what i need and when it gets here, crack the front open and install...the rear will have fluid change at same time and since it's in constant use, a verification for the locker and open carrier ;) i tend to be busy all the time so i schedule several things to be done at once...
 












all ya gotta do is jack up the rear and turn a tire if the opposite tire turns in the same direction it's an lsd if not then it's open carrier.

no have to jack both sides at the same time put the jack under the pumpkin and lift

That works most of the time but if the friction plates in the carrier are really worn out, you will be able to turn one wheel by itself. It doesnt take much to overcome the friction plates especially with larger tires on (more torque from your hands) -- hence the term "limited grip" :D

izwack, thats what i was thinking since when i did my gear spin with one tire up, so i am going to get the open carrier from carlover and the locker from rockranger and count it as my next months project...thanks all
