Love the GN's, drove a buddy's back in the day and have wanted one since. The T-Types are just as much fun to drive. This one seemed to eat a couple 700R's a year. He traded it and some guy bought it for his kid. Two months later it was in the junk yard with the passenger side headrest sticking out of the sunroof
Yeah the trannys are TERRIBLE in these things. Its a blast to drive, I can burn the gears all the way to third, which prolly isnt helping that transmission
lol. And thats terrible what they did to that car, but having pushed mine further than I should have I can see why it ended up there, LOTS of power.
Ate a couple turbos too IIRC... I really like how the tires would fight for traction through 1st gear then lay 10' of black when it hit 2nd... Lots of power, very little brakes. Damn drums on the back too. Even the GNX had drums, think they were aluminum but still drums!
Yeah ive been contemplating a disk brake conversion. It stops great but it could always be better. But I think lift spacers are gonna come first for the ex
I was too actually. Your paint job turned out really nice.
Can you find a 4 wheel disk car with the same rear end for the conversion? I engineered my own rear disk conversion for the stang, calipers from a caddi, disks from a turbo coupe. Made the caliper brackets out of 3/16 plate after making the pattern from plywood. What a difference...
Great....after seeing your t type, I now have another car to consider. My choice was between a 350 camaro(bored and stroked to a 383), an lt1 camaro, or go all out on an ls1 camaro. Now a t type?? Are they comprable to my other options? I just grove my friends 04 mustang gt and it seemed to be lacking hp and low end torque
Well I sanded them down cleaned them really well, and used ace brand sandable primer, sanded em twice. Then i put about 5 coats of ace brand black gloss indoor/outdoor paint. I took it to the car wash the other day and sprayed them with a power washer from about 2 inches away and nothing came off so im thrilled with them.
As far as the conversion goes its a GM 10 bolt up under there and i know they have disc conversions for them so im gonna check them out.
And Kazer its all to your preference but just so you know... I burnt the ass out of 2006 ish? charger hemi the other day. Idk what itd do against a camaro like that but I know this puppy has plenty of power. I wonder how embarassed he was getting beat by a V6...turbo charged of course
