I miss Austin bad---Can one of you guys send me a plane ticket. Would love to throw back a few at the Oasis Lake Travis!!

If we sent you a ticket, do you think the airline would let you check your X as a bag? Fly Southwest, their bags fly free!!!

Where is the Oasis Lake Travis? Sounds like a possible meeting point.

See what you mean,a tad on the upside on their prices. Don't have to pay for a view. Looks like the Oasis would be a great place to take a date, but it don't look like the place for a meet.

Go to a Rudy's lol they have a carshow every year I'm sure they wouldnt mind a big group rolling through there.

haha I actually used to work at the Oasis. You are definitely paying for the view.

We could always do something like Carlos N Charlie's. It's in Emerald Point Marina on Lake Travis. The marina parking lot is huge so there's plenty of parking and prices aren't as bad the Oasis.

Or a friend of mine is a member of Vertically Challenged and they met at the Bone Daddy's on 183 in North Austin. They said it was very accomodating (parking, seating, food and drink prices)

About how many people will be going?

or like gman said, I have a friend that lives out by Pace Bend park, they have lake access and a big yard. Depending on how many people will be showing up I could probably talk them into it.

If someone has a place big enough to have you all there, throw some steaks on the BBQ grill, load up the coolers, and kick back with a cold one. :)

We can't vote for or "volunteer" a person's private property.

A place on the lake with plenty of parking is ideal for a meet.
I don't know the number of attendees yet, it will proably keep changing up to and including the date of the meet.

The ideas are coming in and "it's great" (in Tony the Tiger's voice) keep 'em coming!!!

Just saying.....Someone drives for 3-4 hours to meet at a restaurant for 1 hour and have to drive back.....that wont be too much fun now will it?

If someone offered up the property for a meet & greet, no voting necessary if the area is already decided on. Just trying to help out.

I will butt out now and leave it be. :D

:salute:

Have a call in Austin tomorrow, I am going to recon Emerald Point on Lake Travis, as well as Chili's and Bone Daddy's on 183. The possibility of a EF convoy from Emerald Point to an eating place exists. Will post tomorrow after work.

I think it was Pace Bend Park that back in 2001 I attended a Texas Sport Trac meet. :p:

Will check out Pace Bend while I'm there, thanks for the post, I missed that on Green95's post.

Pace Bend Park is awesome! They recently paved a bunch of the areas so they are more accessible. Downfall is that they have to pay for it somehow so entrance fee went up a little.

Any ideas on the time we would be meeting?

It is darn nice, the entrance fee is $10.00. Going to check out Lake Georgetown Saturday and take a look at that area.

I was thinking around 1pm to the start, that gives the folks from Dallas and Houston some time without having to leave a O-darkthirty.

Oasis has a nice view of Hippie Hollow.

I will see about checking in my Ex. Hope it fits in the overhead compartment.

You mean @ 4am? Lol, been there, done that. Upside to that is no traffic. Downside is all the extra pit stops from the coffee. :D
