Texas Slab Run

I hate to spoil the fun again, but the first weekend in October is another Jewish Holy Day. The 14th or 21st of October are ok for me, though. Again, Sept 23rd looks good, too.

Ok now that everyone is back lets try to set a date.Don't for get about the heat 111 degrees in San Antonio and also the rainy season.

Date

I say we push it back to October 16th weekend.
It should be a lot cooler then and the rain shouldn't be here.
Question is should be go wheeling Saturday or Sunday?

That weekend sounds good to me. I say we make a 2 day thing, if people want to they can come on Saturday, camp out under the stars, or they can just show up on Sunday for a full day of wheeling. What do yall think?

Keith, Im back now from CO, but my ICQ here at work is down, if you have Yahoo Messenger, you can find me under the name sinjin_pez . Get a hold of me.

I have some friends that live right around there, I'm from Colorado and will be down there to see them in Oct. I will be there the 2-18 so if I'm not too busy with them we could come out and hit the slabs.:) Oooh, that makes this trip even better now:D

Ok I want to make it official.
The Slab meet is October 14 and 15th!
I am looking into finding places to camp with showers because I know most of you have families and bathing in the river is out of the question.
If you do not want to camp then let me know and I will find a place for your family to stay at in Kingsland.
Or if your driving down Saturday and leaving Saturday or coming Sunday and leaving Sunday then that is fine too. Long drive for most though!
Kingsland BTW is around 40 miles West of Austin.
I am going to make a web site with more pictures, places to stay, maps, etc. Give me a couple of days.

I do want a head count though on who is coming.

For sure I know me and Rod will be there. Who else?

I'll be there!:)

I should be there, I'll probably come and go on Sunday.

Slabs !!!!

I'm in. October 14-15 if i'm correct. I'll probably drive in for 1 day or we may stay. Let me know where you guys are staying. We just found out my wife is pregnant so I don't know about the overnight thing. Stay in touch!!

Stacy

http://www.musicramp.com/texplorers/slabs/
We got a big list of Texans but very few people that have shown intrest so far. Where are you guys at? Gofast? Kris? Taco? etc.

Anyhows e-mail me at ku@musicramp.com with the information listed on the page I need.

No 2wd vechiles will be allowed to come out on the trail.
But if you have a 2wd by all means come, you can just jump in with one of us! The more the merrier.

Me and Rod had a really really bad time because of a 2wd in our group. The sand just kills.

Lets get this going! CYA there

PS. The Texas 4x4 Explorer Club. I am fighting my hosting comapny to give me a seperate login to that dir then we can all have access to it. The everyone can upload/change there page by themselves. Give me a day or so.

Doubtful

Very Very interested, However the schedule is very packed.
I have a different Poker Run this weekend, then Clayton, then Tulsa for my Daughters birthday, etc etc. I'm also saving for a possible trip to Canada in December. Gonna hang out in Bampf (sp?) for a week.

Somehow I'll work this in, but it might be next year.

Still have some Bumpers to make too.

Same as Gofast... I would love to make it but don't plan on me being there. If I can, it will be a last minute decision. I just have WAY too much going on. I'll let you know if I can make it.

If you come make sure you give me a call. I am an hour and a half from Banff and you have to drive through Calgary to get there. If you are flying you will be flying here. Let me know.

I'm still going.
I MIGHT have my bumpers and sliders done by then and even might have my winch on so I gotta show boat =}

Paul

If this comes togather I'll call and we can hook-up for Dinner or some skiing? I hear it's gorgeous there. This is one of those " Let's go somewhere we've never been" type deals. I'm sure we'll Fly and rent something for the week.

Any suggestions on places to go or things see? Maybe a Stars game if there playing that week. Need to check Calgary's schedule.

It would be great to meet another Motor Head on this site. It was you that was putting the Supercharged Olds in wasn't it?

Thanks Rob

If you fly you should rent a 4x4 and we can take it out to play in the snow! Nothing too crazy though.

It was a Supercharged T-Bird but I am going to hold off for a while. I haven't wheeled in almost a year so I want to get some use out of it.

Here are a few things that are worth seeing but most of them are out of town.
