I'm counting the days. I haven't wheeled in like 3 or 4 weeks now!

I went up to Lubbock this weekend and was so depressed. Just South of Lubbock about and hour there is a stretch of about 45 miles of some of the most kick ass 4 wheeling land I have seen. It's got everything, rivers, huge tabletops, so much fun rock. It was hard to look to my left and right.

I'm trying to find someone with access to a Ranch up there. This would be so perfect even though it's so far.

Keith,

Well get ready because we found some awesome stuff to play on out there.
Also have you heard anything from Jason, Keach, and Michael, are they for sure coming, I havent seen them post anything.

jason said he was coming for sure.
Michael I thought was coming.
Keach is coming for 1 day but didn't know when.
Might want to e-mail these people.

Also I got an e-mail of another guy in Austin that wants to come.

Here are directions if you are coming from the Dallas area:

EDIT

GJarrett has the directions. If you are participating in this trip and need them, Personal Mail me and I will send them to you. Gerald

Directions

Hey Guys,

I've been out of town for the weekend so I was away from posting. I am definately coming. I need to get the directions to Sinjin's house in Round Rock. I will be coming up from San Antonio and I think I can find Round Rock (off of 35, right?). If someone could email me either directions or an address to put in Mapquest I would appreciate it very much.

Michael
'96 Camaro (leaking like a seive)

Michael, check your PM. I just sent you directions.

WHO NEEDS A HAND WINCH? I (finally) bought a HiLift which can be used as a hand winch so I no longer need my 4 ton comealong hand winch. If any of you have no winch at all this is a good emergency tool. I used it just once, to pull a Suzuki out that had decided to go swimming in a river. It's a funny story if you're interested: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=11558 Pulling a vehicle out that is up to its rooftop against the pressure of a river current takes a LOT of strength, so that should give you some idea what you can do with it.

The comealong is very compact. If any of you going on the Slabs Run is interested in buying it from me for $20, I'll bring it down.

Rod is the river high?
It's going to the rain this entire week so I'm worried that the water might be to deep to cross.

Thanks Gerald, I got the directions.

For $20 I'll take a 4 ton comalong off of your hands. Bring it on down.

Am I right in remembering that we are going to meet at 8:30 at Rod's (Sinjin) house?

Michael

Yep, you got it MIchael, this Saturday at my house, 8:30 am.

Keith we should all be able to make the water crossings no problem.

Also, if you dont have a cb radio in your vehicle, if you know anyone with a handheld, try to bring it, its not a necesity, but its quite helpful on the trail. And if anyone has any handheld ones that others can use, please bring those along.

Thanks and see everyone on Saturday. :)

I got a CB too

Herc Outfitters & Supply reporting back in. I've also got one of those small black Cobra CBs. Anyone want it for $29? You couldn't use it this trip because you'll need to wire it up and install it, but you'd be ready for the next outting.

I'm broke; trying to finance this trip!

I'll take the CB

Unfortunately I'm not coming on the trip, but I do live in Austin. If it's alright, maybe Rod could take it off your hands and I could get it from him sometime? Email me so we can work something out. I would pay for shipping if you want to ship it.

Herc Outfitters & Supply again

Alec, I sent you a PM. Check your Private Messaging.

Okay, next item. Who needs a Hidden Hitch? It provides a perfect rear tow point and HiLift jacking point, and protects your bumper on the trail by taking all the hits when you slam your rear bumper down on a ledge. $70 and I'll bring that too if anyone wants it. A new one costs $100-$130, plus tax. We could install it right there at camp.

One more day....

And I am headed down! :bounce:

Guys, if you haven't already, be sure to read Trail Equipment for help and suggestions on what to bring.

See you Saturday!
