i guess i'll keep the build thread going and update the first post or make a summery thread.

now i need to run the question of:

coilover or
coil spring?????????

either way im going to redisign everything. coil bucket style would be like autofabs d44 setup

NO! no iron crosses, no SRH! :censored: :rant: :p:

Damn, i'm getting excited and it's not even my truck :) Can't wait for this!

O ya, and i think you might as well do coilovers now, so later on when you switch to the 44, you'll already be set up with c/o and you wont have to throw away all of the work of building new buckets. You can just swap in the 44, piece of cake! ;)

yeah i remember that thread. good info. i will go coilovers eventually, but it would be much cheaper to stay coil bucket for a while. i already have coilbuckets and springs (or if i want fullsize springs, im sure they're not too much $) all i would need is some 14" 2.5 FOA shocks, about $425, and build a shock mount in front of the coil bucket. thats it not to bad. and i could sell my 2.0 shocks to help get money for the 2.5's. to go coilover would cost a bit more, about $900 for some FOA c/o's with springs and another $500-700 for an engine cage. then i would need 2" air bump stops to keep averything from flying through the hood on a hard impact.

is that stock steering on the black truck all twisted up with the coilovers?

Coilovers are sweet, but they are a huge project. I'd love them, but I'm not sold on what all I would gain for the money.

So did I miss something in my reading, are you keeping your drop brackets or going stock?

Arrgh, I wrote green, took a second look and changed it to black.

And I know you have cut and turned beams, I just didn't know if you were going to run both, with something crazy like a 8" coil and a F150 spacer or something.

You change your front end on a weekly basis, I'm starting to wonder if you are using wing nuts to bolt that thing on :D

I would put it back together with the beams you just had done and start saving for the new set up. D44 front and just go all out on it. Go ahead and swap a 9" in when you do it to keep the lug pattern the same.

The D44 axle shaft is about 7" longer than the D35 shaft.

Diff clearance to the frame will be one of your biggest problem. The next will be radius arm.

I know of alot of D44 TTB threads on other forums. I've got all the parts to do a D44 swap save for the brackets and rad arms.

Let me know if you want more info.

I say just do the D44 TTB swap

it's too late for me now, im set in my ways. it's hopeless to try and change my mind :D im just going to do it and hopefully it will work, if not, i'll have to do something else but at least i'll give it a shot.

d44 male intermediate shaft should be about 4.5-5"s longer.

d44= +/- 25"s long

d35= +/- 20"s long

i will find out for sure when the peices are sitting in the garage ;)

I have them all sitting in mine. If you want me to take a measurement or two.

I'm sure it was 7" over the D35 lenght.

the wider the better :thumbsup:
