If you accidentally put too much transmission fluid in, what's an easy way to remove some? suction tube down the filler neck, or unhook the transmission cooler line from the radiator and run the truck till enough comes out. (p.s. which line is the output, the top or bottom line on the radiator?

Unless it is REALLY overfull (in which case, it will find its way out via the vent tube) a bit overfull won't really hurt.

If you are worried about it, you could suction some out from the fill tube -- that is about the only way unless you've added a drain plug to the pan while it is off. BTW, I highly recommend doing exactly that. Makes it easier to service the next time.

Too much can also cause foaming.. so if you know your 1/2 quart or more high I found the easiest way is to disconnect a trans cooler line and put it into a bottle.. Start the truck for a few seconds, turn it off and you can see how much you took out.. if too much.. pour some back in.

I bought this a LONG time ago but never installed it. I wasn’t sure where on the pan to install it. Did you put it on the side or bottom of the pan?

I would remove the lower (rubber) transmission cooler line up near the radiator, and drain some ATF until you reach the correct level

this is also a good way to replace 100% of your transmission fluid, without dropping the pan
I believe Aldive did a write up on this proceedure a few years back

I have used it on a Ford Escape (no dipstick, no pan) and it worked awesome.
