Still is a 5.0L block. Which is the title of the thread. 347=5.686L. Not a 5.7 (if you want to get technical).

Ok, got back to school still. Have you seen anybody put 5.686L on the side of their truck? Nope, so round up to 5.7L. :D

It don't matter what the block started out as... It's been modified to to 347ci., so technically it's a 5.7L.

So basically we are all jealous of jtsmith.

BTW, I have had my 5.0L up to 110 before.
 






I know my sig is long, and I have 347 STROKER badge on side. Actually is 349.9 cu in, But who wants 350 on side of Ford . Now I'll remove some of my mods, so I can shorten my sig LOL
 






153 on the GPS. It was rock solid but too much trafic to go faster.

i drove my explorer to puerto vallarta for new years and on the way i took toll roads which are great in mexico, back to the subject i hit 115 and the computer would not let me do more. the only thing i've done is put an k&n filter and cat back 3" exhaust.

Throw some larger tires on there and you'll go even faster without your computer knowing. I run 265/70/15's and my buddies accord was doing 125 next to me.
 






I have an apten chip but haven't tried to go above my stock limit of 109. Tires were crappy and when I got them changed there was still a vibration. I recently took it to a garage near home and viola no more vibration. Good ol' boys sure know how to balance tires!! Now its burning oil whenever I get it above 3500 RPM. They can't find any evidence of oild leaking and its not coming out the tailpipe. Ughh...gonna get an F-250 Diesel next.
