I am building a new home, so I have to move. I got a good friend that owns a 16 or 18 foot tandem axle trailer. Will my explorer pull it fine or should I not. !98 ex with v6. Pretty much a stock explorer. I don't have anything terribly heavy to move just the usual couches, tables, and beds. thanks:D

Making the assumption that your truck is in good shape, and that you aren't going cross country, I would say you should be able to do no problem. You can probably even pull it on your bumper, but I suggest a hitch for any kind of towing. A $100 hitch vs. a bumper is a no brainier.

Im sure you can pull it but i wouldent do it without trailer brakes. Big trailers get hard to stop without it being a fullsize truck and trailer brakes.

Right, but some of the 18' trailers I pull don't have trailer brakes. Common sense is key when towing.

Moved thread to the "towing" subforum

Nice subforum isnt it? ;)
