I will be seriously thinking about going. Will there be some not so difficult, not so easy trails out there. I am a first timer out there, but have lots of experience. Just don't have the mods to do anything tooooo bad.

Rick, this time I'll be prepaired for that "Easy" night run you guys took me on last year, and we won't have to spend 45 min. winching me off of few rocks!!! Last night I finally took some vicegrips and fixed the minor damage from that night. It was such a blast, I'd do it all over again, less the getting stuck part.

"Ah oh, I think we're going to have to turn around, the stockie won't make this!"

Well.... it was dark out:rolleyes: Oops...

HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I encourage anyone thinking about this run to do it. Whether your stock (like I was last year) or Modified come out. Great place, awesome people!!!

Oh man thats a long drive, Brett said it was FUN last time he went though it's alot of driving for a little wheeling. If other dude's from CO are going and we can caravan I may be down....Brett and Joe? I dont know....maybe.

That would be fine with me. I won't have a definate until later this week, but I wouldn't mind driving with a group.

question for 410Fortune

are you friends with that guy who was selling his red mazda, with the d44 swap, in denver? I think his name on this site is "HIX". I have been thinking about a solid axle conversion on my ranger and would love to see his truck in action. is he still selling his truck or did he decide to swap everything over to his navajo?

Oh yeah, if you don't know him...disregard all of the above questions.

I have talked with Jason, but I don not know him nor have I seen his B4000. Nice truck though. Do the D44, it;s not that hard or bad, since all the research has been done for you over and over again...........

I will keep my TTB because I love it both on and off road and I've alread got too much $$$ in it and the lift.....

Last I talked to him he chopped his new Navajo and wwas fabricating a cage. Not sure if he was gonna put the D44 under the Navajo and put the stock Navajo stuff back on the B4000 (thats what I would do!!)

All you guys contemplating going this year, I highly recommend looking at the trip reports on the previous two runs. And/or do a search for truckhaven, look at all the pictures, read the posts, there's tons of info/incentive!;)

Man, Truckhaven looks so much fun. I would love to be there with you guys in January, except Mapquest is telling me it takes over 36 hours to drive the 2135 miles :(

ONLY 21.3 HOURS IF YOU GO 100 AND DONT STOP FOR GAS.

LOL :D

I like the way you think, but I don't think my Explorer (or the cops) do too :(

I wouldn't trust that too much. It has NEVER worked for me before. I tried to go to an address a while back and the directions it gave me were on the other side of town from where it was.

Oh well. Mapquest has always worked for me, so I'll wait til they screw me over before I start complaining.

Those weird little no-name map services, now those always get me going the wrong direction

In looking through the past 2 years of photos and reading about the weekends, I have come to a conclusion and I was wondering if someone who had been on the run could answer a question for me. It seems like a very large majority of the rigs that attend this run are stock or have very little lift/mods. Is this true? I really want to attend an almost all for run (there was a jeep or two in 00 from what I read), but stock runs just aren't my thing.

I know that my truck (91 ranger, 4" superlift, front fender and bedsides flared, 33" muds, stock running gear, and almost stock 4.0 engine) can handle a lot of the stuff tht truckhaven can throw at it without many problems, and I am looking for a run that will test my truck. If there are only stock rigs out there I don't think it will be as fun as it would be with trucks with similar abilities.

So yeah, after 2 paragraphs of bs I will sum it up into one question. Are the trails run on the easy to medium difficulty range or do they go from medium to difficult? Anyone with past experience please reply.

The Runs are split into two groups. Beginners/Stockers Run and then the Modified Run. Pick and choose. I remember someone stating that if you opt to go on the Modified run, you'd better be locked and prepaired for damage.

I think you'll have fun there. There is tons to do, even hard stuff. Check it out.
