uRGENT qUESTION

Woops forgot capslock. Anyway upon looking down into the lower intake or intake ports for the cylinder heads(whatever they are called)...or better yet...where the blue O-Rings will sit on the engine....I see a rod looking thing (not real sure of the term) but I can see what looks like liquid..from what I can see and smell its the oil that leaked in...... should I finish instalation and burn this off or is there some way of removing this?
I have a 2002 Ford Ex. Sport with the 4.0 V6 SOHC.


Here is a link with pictures.....The liquid looks like oil when some is retrieved but reeks of gas...so is this just what was left in the chamber and can I just start the engine and burn it out?

Im no engine expert, but that looks like a valve to me. I don't think that will be a problem, but again, I am no engine builder. Maybe someone will jump in here and help.

Ill post your pictures, maybe that will help.

Ah yes, I remember that valve. Yes it is a valve.

I'd remove that fluid -- soak it up with some cotton swabs or something long enough to reach down in there.

After it is sorted, I would consider a seafoam treatment, and new spark plugs afterwards. It sould remove most of the crud from the valves.

Already have both on hand...I hate changing the plugs on this thing but anything to keep it from taking a bigger crap

That is if I survive the backache from being hunched over trying to get something to soak this up.....not near as easy as I thought it was going to be
