I have a 2000 XLT V8 Explorer and I have been getting this squeeling noise when I turn to the right and only when I turn right. I think it is comming from the right rear wheel, but im not sure since i havnt been able to get someone to hang their head out the window and listen. I have recently replaced both front bearing assemblies so I am almost positive its comming from the rear. You have to listen very closely to hear the noise its very faint ;)

If it happens only when you turn right.. Then I would check the front end to see if anything is scraping when turning. Even though you changed your front bearings, many times they could be defective. I really think it's something from the front.. I don't see why it would affect the rear if it happens only when turning.

Question: Does this happen only at full lock right turn?

No, it doesnt just happen in a full lock turn it happens even if there is the slightest preassure added to the steering wheel.

Nothing is scraping in the front end i have been throught it dozens of times and have not found anything wrong with it.

Thanks guys

I just tried tried applying the brakes and the noise went away completely. Got back and checked the rear brakes and they still have a little less than a 1/4 inch left, and i just replaced the front brakes 2 days ago to try to fix the problem but they didnt. Im going to try and get the rear rotor off to check the e brake.

Thanks
-Ryan
