Thanks 410 for your reply.that is the charcoal canister, it stores fuel vapors from the top of the fuel tank until the canister purge valve opens and allows the fumes to be burnt up through the intake manifold. I believe on your 94 this is done from the bottom of the throttle body
Make sure all cracked hoses/elbows/fittings get fixed
Remove this with caution, as the purge solenoid (located directly under the upper intake) to which it is connected is somewhat costly to replace new and manufactured with a bit more brittle type of plastic. Thanks 410 for your reply.
Will do.
Oooopsss nice tip Childldenticant! I’ve never read about so that is for your point.Remove this with caution, as the purge solenoid (located directly under the upper intake) to which it is connected is somewhat costly to replace new and manufactured with a bit more brittle type of plastic.
Clever 410!or even slice the line so it releases with no effort
While plugging the new hose, can I add some fluid to make it slip? Or it’s paranoiaClever 410!
Hey where'd you get a new one? I have mine wrapped in black tapeWhile plugging the new hose, can I add some fluid to make it slip? Or it’s paranoia
That should be fine. I'd use water soluble stuff like personal lube myself. They look at you funny when you buy it but it works so good, it's worth it.While plugging the new hose, can I add some fluid to make it slip? Or it’s paranoia
jajaja, i see the picture, but really, a very nice ideaThat should be fine. I'd use water soluble stuff like personal lube myself. They look at you funny when you buy it but it works so good, it's worth it.
i'll try in a pair of "The hose and rubber house" here in my city, when i was overhauling my motorcycle ( bmw K75 1986) i was able to find all the water hoses even with the same shape ( waiting the original ones to arrive) ....6 years later ( this 2022) i swapped to the original ones ( and they were as new) that were in the drawer for so long.Hey where'd you get a new one? Anyone have a good photo of or guidance on where the vacuum canister purge valve should be physically located? Replaced mine a little bit ago based on CEL and chasing that code, solved the CEL issue but didn’t pay enough attention when removing the old one and the new one does not seem to be positioned in the right location. And I actually broke the first new one installing it so lube, lube, lube….I use vaseline on all hoses like this, vaseline is pure petroleum and will work in all automotive systems
