I was in the garage today and was looking at the Explorer as it sat patiently waiting for me to take it on another adventure (sorry pal, not today). I noticed that my 35" Goodyear MTR's just don't seem so big anymore. Must be time for 37's. Or, I could just drive it into a shopping mall parking lot, and park next to a stock Explorer to get back my perspective. I think I will take a ride to Von's today to get a reality check, lots of Explorers in that parking lot.:p:

When was the first time you noticed that those huge tires just don't seem so big anymore?

I only have 31's with a TT/shackle lift, but they look small. They just seem like they should have been the stock size.

I have had the 35's on there for about four years now, just started noticing they don't look as big as they used to look. I wish my gut would do that.
Will go with 37's on 17 inch wheels when I do my SAS some time in the future.

...keep me in mind as i need some 35" mtr spares......unless mine start lookin' small too...:D

My 37s have looked small to me for 5 or 6 years!

Our's looked small when we got the 40", but now looking at the 40's everyday seating here mounted on the truck for the last 2 year's, they are starting to look small.

I'm itching for 35s...

...paul, you could fit 44's but you might need to do some trimming...:D

With 9"s and glass 35s look REAL small, too bad IFS won't hold up to any bigger.

This thread makes me want to lift my Ex and say screw the warranty that i still have left. Hmm ideas, ideas, ??????

Stop looking at them until the rig is finished. Then in a year or so when its finished, the tires will look big again.:p: If that doesn't work, you can always put one of the tires into the back of your work truck, drive around until you find a lifted full sized truck, then get the tire out and stand it up next to the lifted truck's tires. Nine times out of ten, your 40's will be bigger.
I guess 35's are becomming so early 2000's now, they are boring. When I put them on, I had some of the tallest tires around. Glad I skipped the 33's.:D;)

LOL it's hard for me not to look at the truck everyday, because I have to walk by it to be able to open the back bay door to load up the work truck. I think it will be less then a year when it will be finish and a 40" tire is not something you just lift off and on a truck, there dang heavy:p: Were going to use a 37" for the spare in the rear tire carrier, that will already cover most of the rear window and back area.

Paul, you can't go to bigger tires yet...I'm not ready for your 40's yet :(:p:

I think My 37's look small now, but I don't think my truck is that big really anymore. It still fits in the garage door.:dunno: However, when ever family comes over and walks through the garage, they say "whoa...that thing is huge!" I just look at the 150 or volvo tires and think yeah maybe the 37's are a bit bigger.

I think we've just have reached a point where 10 years ago 35's were huge! and 40-44's were only for big mud trucks. Now you can buy a new Hummer, with 35's stock, and it's just normal. Remember 225/75/15 was the factory norm. for a truck:rolleyes: now cars have bigger tires then that.

at least 37's still kinda sound cool:shifty_ey
