Morning!!

Where is the connector for reading the codes for a '97? I looked around under the hood but it didn't jump out at me.

Also, where is a good place to buy a clockspring for the same rig?

The diagnostic port is in the same place on just about every vehicle- it is under the steering column by where you knees would be while driving.

You beat me to it, I was searching trying to find out WTF a clockspring is
It is the dealio which maintains electrical contact to the air bag in steering wheel, allowing it to turn.

Thanks guys!! I'll take a look under the steering column in a bit...and look my for part

Current project is replacing a window so car work a little later!!

Thanks again!!

John

The OBD II diagnostics weren't mandatory until 96.

ya on 95 and earlier they are under the hood conected to the Power Distributon Box, they say EEC-IV on the cap, on 95's they have that plus the one under the dash, for 96+ they are all under the steering wheel the the left of the hood release latch

and the '95 has a built in code reader- you access it with a sequence of the ignition switch.
