So, some of the next plans for my X include locking the rear and possibly the front later on...But while looking for lockers I saw that only some could be used in the limited slip carriers for the 8.8" (Which I have 3.73 limited-Slip) I did some research on lockers and I wound up deciding that I would go with an automatic locker in the rear for now. I guess I wasn't thinking about everthing when I ordered the Aussie Locker which can't be installed into a Limited slip carrier correct? So I believe that, hasn't changed so now I ethier need to change out to an open carrier or else just find an axle from a JY or something to swap...

What do you guys think is the best way to go about this?

I didn't know where to put this thread...in the differentials forum or in the whoops! lol Cause now this sucks!!!

You aren't planning on 410's-or even lower gears?
how large tire are you going to have? I thought you were going to have 33" tires?
Edit,
yeah you do-
I would switch to a lower gear for sure-even with my tires It could use a little less gear.

Well I have been riding on 33's for quite a while now, It hasn't made me want to really want to re-gear from the 3.73's but since the locker is on the way maybe I could just find a 8.8" Open carrier with 4.10's and a matching D35 with 4.10's but that right now is the last option...

or I could help you by purchasing the aussie locker from you for a very good price, then you could decide what you really want :D

What is a good price to you? Cause if you are serious about that and thats what I decide to do... then when it arrives I won't even open, just slap a new shipping sticker on it and send it off...

Well I was just kidding, I'm not really sure I would want one since I tow so much, although the added offroad ability would be nice. How much was it if you dont mind me asking maybe I will give it some thought... if you don't want to post it here PM me..

If you're unsure about putting it in the rear, throw it in the front and leave the rear the way it is. :)

Well even though its for my 8.8" I will try putting it in the Dana but it might just work...:p:

But What do yous guys think is most cost effective
Getting a Open carrier, putting it into the carrier and then swap just the limited slip carrier for the Open w/locker in it...or

Going and getting a used axle with 3.73 and open, and putting the locker in there and swaping the axles?

 are you just trying to be funny or did you smoke some really good stuff?

Umm, little of both, I guess.... :smoke: He could always put that axle in the front of his ex too... make it a rear-steer truck... 'cuz that's practical.... :)

lol, are you going to donate the tens of thousands of dollars it would take to get an idea like that off the gound?

Tens of thousands? :D Rear steer is plain vanilla in the off-roading world

yeah but even if I put that axle in the front that doesn't help...it still has the limited slip carrier in it...
