Yes. 12v is the gold standard for voltage.

ACC- Accessory- this is powered when the key is in accessory mode, not when the engine is off. There are some functions (ie. radio) that work when the key is in accessory mode, but not when the car is fully off. Anything that runs in ACC should also work in the Run/On position
The radio is not a good example on these Explorers. The radio can be turned ON even with the engine shut OFF. It is always powered. ;)

It started with the 5th gen. The garage door opener button on the visor is also always powered so if you leave the vehicle unlocked in the driveway anyone can jump in, and turn the radio on while ransacking the garage. :)
The power window would be a good example of a feature that would operate in ACC mode.

Got it!

On my '14, accessory mode is more like a command to the... (BCM?) to toggle some relays, that operates on a timer. If I shut the vehicle off with the radio playing, key out of the ignition (it is not keyless start) a few seconds later the radio shuts off. If the window is down, I "think" I have a few seconds for that as well, to put it up.

Guys, I'm so sorry. I didn't have any notifications for all these. I never liked ignore anyone, to me it means rudeness.....

No worries! :D

look guys these are details to me it's the heart that matters.

I am not an engineer, I have no experience with cars

but a lot of people when I tell them this say you're right.

and when i bought it my mechanic told me that the engine is good clean.

yes i spent money that's true but if I had from the beginning good help... for example he can tell not, example someone can tell me don't buy, the what you have it's OK this it works, or go buy this part number.

What am I saying now? I was young and now, I am old. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Irrelevant…. Honestly, I feel bad for being here; it's like I'm ashamed. I see so many incredible things here - especially on the cars as you work. And I don't even know the basics! You have this vast knowledge, taking apart and reassembling the pieces with ease, and it's truly impressive.

I feel like a fly in the milk.🤣🤣🤣🤣

I hope, you continue like this, and learning so as much as possible.💫

I recommend watching @DePolicify's videos on his YouTube channel. He is very well detailed and he offers solutions for getting your center console functional. I wish he was more known because he's helped me before. Please watch this, I'm sure this'll help you:

Can't wait to do this to my rig. Just need to get the harness and we're ready.

I was watching all his videos, of course he is very well detailed, and any question what I needed was answered. Bravo to him.

there is an important point for me I can't see on the video. I tried to zoomed but wasn't work.

Now, I did it without harness, and I don't want buying adapter for USB. Things is a little bit different, but most this I did the same. Thank u bro.👍

Did you just plug in the screen to the existing 54 pin connector? Does everything work like it should? I'm getting the hub because I want Android Auto.

Please don't feel bad! We all start somewhere, and this is one of the best places to learn! Everyone here is super helpful, and the best way to learn is by doing!

I'm stuck on this part: GB5T-19980-CE. I don't know how to connect it. I don't care about anything else, I just want the light to work.
If you could send me wiring diagrams, I would appreciate it.

Hello everyone,

I've successfully installed a 2018 Ford Explorer center console in my 2015 Ford Explorer PIU, but I need help connecting the wires. I've attached the wiring diagrams for both vehicles, but I'm unsure about the correct connections.

I have to admit, I made a mistake earlier - I cut the wires, but I didn't cut them into small pieces. Now, I'm left with a bundle of cut wires and I'm not sure how to proceed.

Can anyone with experience in wiring or electrical systems please assist me in:

- Identifying the corresponding wires and connectors
- Ensuring correct connections for power, lighting, and other functions
- Figuring out how to work with the cut wires (should I strip and reconnect, or use connectors?)

Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm worried that I might have made a bigger problem for myself, and I want to get it right to avoid any electrical issues.

Thanks in advance for your help.
I have a 2016 PIU 3.5 TT ECOBOOST AWD INTERCEPTOR. Former GEORGIA STATE PATROL UNIT. It came with and still has the metal (Troy Industries I suppose) Police Equipment Floor Unit/Console complete with Access Lid as well as a USB A plug & an Earphone type plug-in on the passenger side of the metal enclosure. And a very small push button switch on the drivers side of the metal enclosure. A small knob to secure the access panel/lid to the wiring fuses and relays underneath and a large knob that appears to have been there to attach a laptop mount arm to. You Guys have more patience than I do because I would never attempt to change the center console to a floor shifter type console like that of my same year 2016 Explorer Sport.(After taking one glance at the wiring, fuses, relays etc , As there's a lot more down there than just a harness of wires) Mine has the small screen Sync radio/w CD and unless I could change out the whole interior to that of a Sport from a wrecked Sport I saw no point. I do know mine came straight from the GSP State Auction like it is. Complete with Pursuit Mode Tuning for the Engine and Transmission with a completely bypassed Speed Limiter .As I have experienced 158 mph with 93 Octane and she was still accelerating/pulling with no cut off in Speed with only a K&N Cone Filter with Heat Shield and short tube I cut snd modified/adapted to it from a totalled 392 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack CAI kit from a friend's towing storage lot. It never had a prisoner cage or partition installed as it was previously assigned to one of GSP's Trooper Post Commanders I was familiar with before it was sent to state auction. I will say my 2016 Ford Explorer Sport does not stand a chance in hell against my PIU Performance and Handling wise..l Hope you don't mind my comment.

Typo with autofill is all I could figure. I saw that after laying my phone down briefly and when picking it back up I wondered where that came from because I had not yet started typing. I guess I accidentally touched the keyboard . I removed it and then typed my comment. I do apologize. It happens unfortunately.

I'm thrilled to hear that you're enthusiastic and proud of your PIU! You're the first person to share your feelings with me, and I have to say, me too! However, remember that this car needs attention and respect. If you cross the lines, you'll lose it - so be mindful of that.😉
