PLEASE NOTE;

The front diff D35 IFS in gen 2 is a standard rotation... I ordered a wrong part and luckily Summit Racing sent me a replacement within 4days to down under...

BIG THANK'S TO SUMMIT RACING....

I found that too that there is NO such air/e- locker will fit into DANA 35 IFS in our Explorer gen2 because of the diff centre for being small and there is 2 types of Dana 35...

I end up installing a Auto Locker for my front diff....

Rear Ford Diff 8.8 Clutch Replacement

here's few pictures step by step how I did my rear diff...

then remove the rear caliper brake and the disc...

then remove this locking bolt (that hold the Pin in place)

Soon you removed the Pin you can push in the Axle then you can now remove the C clip locating inside the diff carrier and you can easily pull out the Axle then....

Then remove both bearing cap and slowly pull out the diff carrier...

NOTE; (GEAR - steel - fibre - steel - steel - fibre - steel - fibre - SHIM)

BACKLASH ; 12-15 thou
PINION NUT TORQUE ; (new Differential Crush Sleeve) 16-29 ft lb
(old Differential Crush Sleeve) 8-14 ft lb
RING BOLT ; 80 ft lb
MAIN BEARING CAP ; 80 ft lb

LSD DIFF OIL plus FRICTION MODIFIER

take note! no such thing air locker or e-locker will fit on our gen2 explorers (1997)...
I searched and asked but no luck

This RD102 Air lockers from ARB don't fit I tried to ring and ask to measure my original diff housing and still no luck... someone mentioned that D35 diff has two types and the IFS Dana35 has smaller housing (diff carrier)...

here's what it look like RD102...

and this what it looks like between the original diff carrier and the Air Locker...

and here is the e-locker look....

you can see the difference and its about 15mm higher.....

So I end up getting Auto Locker....

Then I removed all the bearing at same time fit a new set....
Every bearing has a shims so just be careful when you pull these bearing and make sure these shims don't fly away

this part need to be measure between the pin and the locker to make sure enough clearance...

I've been searching for what will be the suitable speedo gear to fix my speedo reading back to normal as you know changing the diff ratios and tyre diameter will change the speedo reading....
so I found out the say's the C1DZ-17271-A (black coloured gear) 20T is the perfect one...

just tried this C1DZ-17271-A (black coloured gear) 20T and for my experience still out of 5km's...

So I bought the C4OZ-17271-A (red coloured gear) 21T and its all good...!
