2006 Eb V8

Just had my 2006 at the dealer. Was told needs Tune up due to multiple misfires. Tune up quoted over $1,000 because '06 has a "two part plug that can snap in half when removing requiring extra re-tooling". Anybody hear this before?

The plugs are expensive and yes the 3 valve heads have a history (especially on the 2006-2007) to high risk of breaking when being removed. Now $1k, I have no idea but sounds REALLY high!

This has been well-covered in another thread on this forum. For a grand sounds like they are assuming that several plugs will break, but if they do it right, they may not. Get prices from other shops and ask them to give a base price and the extra charge per plug in case of breakage.

As said - check for the other thread on replacing your plugs - $1,000 is ridiculous - buy a Lisle plug remover and do it yourself. IF the plugs break off - you use that tool to remove the broken part. Don't fall for that dealer crap.
