What's up guys, I'm wanting to start upgrading/modding my 2000 explorer sport, it is a 4.0 v6 2wd/4wd...not the sohc :\

but anyways, i was looking around on here, and just talking it over with some buddies, and i don't personally know what i should do to it, i want to keep the 16/17 mpg that i get right now, but i still want more power.. i found this http://www.superchargerswarehouse.com/Ford-Explorer-Superchargers/ online and i don't know if i should get that, or not, i've also heard about some performance chips i can get for it, as well as that i could get some headers and an intake, but i'd like to hear from some people that know what they're doing to give me the best possible, affordable (under $1.5k) set up that i could get for it and get more performance,

Thanks, Kidd.

it won't do anything. if you want an actual super charger you're going to have to spend more then 1.5 grand.

i would start here These are the best v6 sites.

some things i would suggest doing, would be an intake, exhaust and probably a tuner. these things will keep you under your budget and will give you a bit of a performance gain, without a huge loss in MPG. But be forewarned if you start modding your MPG will drop.

EDIT: here's a link for a forum members page, he sells tuners as well as everything else for our trucks.
