Black Bear Pass 1, Ranger 0

Poor Ranger, it rolled off the steps on Black Bear Pass in Colorado earlier this month. Guess it was raining and the steps were a little slick.

Thats too bad. I'm in Lake City now. Where zactky did it happen? Cinnamon and Engineer are basicly 2wd pick up roads this year.

At the steps on Blackbear. Happened on July 3rd I think.

I think it just rolled into that creek just below so thats maybe a 20' fall down the hill? If it went off the switchback that would be a whole 'nother story! I didnt see any reports of injuries, it sounded like everyone was ok.

Ya been doin Black Bear since 89 but never heard that called that the steps. Just different circles I guess. Everyone I know calls that the section at Ingram. Glad no one was hurt.

That is (was?) an FX4 Level II - a nice truck. What a shame...

I wonder what happened - I stayed left last year going down the steps. Maybe he went farther left, and went too far?
