I picked up this explorer for $1000 in july 2011 and i turned 16 in august of 2011,and got my license before september. so i dropped a couple dollars into it to make it look good before i started driving :D

I painted the rims black
put 265/75/15 goodyear wranglers on it
billet grille
smoked tail lights , smoked turn signals
removed running boards

U should look into a different air filter setup. The stock air box is restrictive and doesn't allow much air flow. Nice looking x tho. How hard was it to install the grill

Thanks. ill Definitely look into the air filter setup. i bought the grille off ebay for $60 and i think it was completely worth it , and it was extremely easy to install . i think it completely changed the look of it .

Do you have any pics of the tail lights after you tinted them?

I would repair the rusty areas. It might make it more visually appealing... JMO.

Well. tonight i did what i was able to do myself... i think its gonna be one of a kind eddie bauer explorer. i put truck bed liner on all the gold. i will have pictures up of it later

aside from the holes below the doors, and in the bumper looks good.

I lived in a salty area for 4 years, so I know there isn't much you can do to prevent the swiss cheese effect.

Looks good, pics definitely help, cause at first before pics I thought it wouldn't look good, but it does. Good job!

I like it, looks sharp! Should paint your hitch too. And, never tow anything heavy and never tow in OD...

These automatic transmissions need to be serviced, do some reading in the transmission section. The trans is an A4LD. New fluid/filter, adjust the bands, don't abuse it and it should last you.

i was like a little iffy on how it would turn out . but i think it looks alot more of like an offroad/beater now which is kinda the look i was going for. You can see my brothers ranger in the backround... hes doing his whole entire truck with it and its coming out great on his

I havent towed anything yet , i found the papers from when the explorer was brand new 1993 , and that towing package has been on there since it was new. i should take a picture of the receipts and put it on here. i thought it was pretty neat to look at. Kinda crazy to think that it used to be a $26,000 Explorer
