My Explorer Sport Build

The brake line extension installed to the frame and soft line on both of my rigs. Can see how it is bent, to help flex when / if pulled on, for a lifted rig.

Well today I replaced the front wheel bearings.

The old one on passenger side wobbled A LOT. so replaced both sides.
I also got rear axle with 4door leaf springs installed.

Right now these tires and rims are on till I get the 32's taken off the cookie cutter rims. I like these rims and these are the ones that I will use once money is able to get them on there. Yes I still have to get front axle installed but today was busy getting donor vehicle on trailer to be a lot easier to move around and getting the rear axle and springs removed. All in all a good day.

Question sir. What Rubber hose did you use to get down to the axle? Or did you just extend down a little and then its still hooked to the Drivers side?

Stock soft line.

You remove the soft line at the frame, and add the extension, then put the soft line back on the extension. Your basically making the line longer is all. You could add a longer soft line if you can find one, but the extension will work, available at any auto parts store, and only cost a couple bucks for both line and connector.

Forgot to get Pictures but got a new Vacuum bowl installed for the vacuum Disconnect for my front axle. This week I will see about getting wiring done and get some pics of what I have done.

Little update on my explorer.

Got this mounted Last weekend.

Got the vacuum bulb installed also and hooked up the vacuum lines. Now I have to hook the electrical to it, the differential, and the switch.

Also got in the mail these

I am going to run my brake line to the middle of truck and down to the pumpkin and then out to the calipers. The only thing missing is the soft line. Will be getting that this week.

Down the middle?

Do you mean over the trans, t-case, driveshaft, and drop to the middle of the axle, or down the frame rail, all the way to the back, then to the middle of the axle?

Sorry It is already down the Frame I will get it to the Middle From frame to the Pumpkin. Sorry my bad. As I am doing it I will post pics as progress happens.

What's the reason to change it up from stock engineering?

The axle housing already has the provisions, for running the brake line along it from drivers frame, to passenger side, keeping it safe.

No need to worry about pulling Brake line when Driver side is dropped down. Yes I know I can out a line down a little but I also liked how it was when I had my Full size Blazer. It was out to the Pumpkin and then split to the Calipers. Did not need to get a longer hose after getting her lifted 4" and When flexed no worries about braking a brake line. Just something I want to do also.

Did that blazer have drums or discs?

You need the soft lines to the disc calipers.

Guess I will wait for your pics to understand better. Was just looking out for ya is all. :)

Yes they were Drums and I already have a soft line for the Driver side. Using the Soft line from a Passenger side and gonna make it work on driver side. I will get pics up ASAP.

OK Question please on this build Manual Control over '95-'96 Vacuum Disco Front Axles is says something about all the wires accept the Black Wire. I got the harness from another Ex and the Brown wire you tape of or shrink wrap. No Problem. The Blue/Yellow is one side and the Green/Pink wire is other side and Purple/Orange wire is Power. Got it! :-) So should I ground the Black by the Pack and ground it in the cab by the switch? Just want to make sure. I have the wires already soldered and shrink wrapped and now I am running them from Engine compartment to Driver compartment. Thanks in advance.

Another little update did a little cleaning and updating my interior.

Painter radio bezel and installed a switch for the vacuum disco axle. Not shown in the picture. I got a basic toggle switch and mounted above CB. Now to get wires into the cabin to hook to the switch. Later on down the road will install radio.
