only driver side door unlocks with key

My problem on my 94 EB was the plastic actuator on the back of the lock (looks kind of like half a lobster claw[sort of, not really]) had broken and jammed into the passenger lock mechanism. I removed teh lock cyl, replaced the piece (from a parts truck) and the lock works fine now. total reapir...

    First Gen barn doors?

Funny, I had this idea the other day while following an aerostar work van (older model) the liftgates look similar to the explorers (1st gen), so i wondered if those would make good donors/starting points. just an idea, i never got any further than daydreaming! Scott

    Drivers Door will not Lock

If the lock mechanism is anything like the first gens, it is probably the mechanism that comes off teh back of the lockl cylinder. that's what happened to mine, it came off and jammed in the rods that connect the handle/lock/lock knob Scott

    Door sag?

THere is a replacement pin kit at most parts store in the 'Help' Section, I don't remember if it is the ford pickup kit or teh mustang kit. You don't have to remove the hinge or door, just support it when you tak ethe pin out. (usually reguires grinding!) Search around, somewhere there is a...

    Rear gate '93 Explorer

Yes, you are correct in assuming that the mechanism has moved! I just fixed my mother in laws ex, (my Brother in law hit a tree backing up, same problem) You CAN get into the tailgate with it closed, just be patient and pull/push/curse at the interior panel carefully once the panel is off...

Most aftermarket sunroofs will com out - my wifes old car did, she had no idea! remove whatever latch/lever is on teh back, and just keep tilting it up, eventually the hinges will have a location that they slide out of. should at least make it easier to "clean" Scott

    spare's rim - wtf?

If you notice that the lug nut mounting surfaces are getting rusty, scrape and wire brush them. my old Jeep Grand Wagoneer had teh spare mounted under the back, so i threw the spare on after a flat, and about 5 miles later, at 60mph it didn't take the turn that the rest of us did! the holes...

My Maglite Install in Cargo Area (2 Pics, approx. 1.0MB)

The nice thing about the big mag lights is that they can be used for protection also, and much safer then carrying a billy club/ bat around. THose can get you busted for having a weapon/ concealed wep. but the mag light is a TOOL! So, even if a cop busts you for it, it can easily be fought...

    Window smashed out AGAIN!!..rivets..??

Home depot has a bin of small rubber washers, if you put two of those on each bolt against the glass on each side, and double nut the bolt/ loc-tite at such a point so that they are not to tight, that should work. Just check clearances on the ends of teh bolts against door lock rods/ etc. Scott
