Hey guys/gals

I was wondering what might be the problem here.

Had been wheeling my ex for awhile and have been is the season for Rock comps this year. We took 2 roll overs the 1st was not bad but ended up on my side then back on all 4 wheels. Did not seem to much of a problem as in breakage.

2nd roll was up on roof but again nothing seem to bad again. I have lift/piviot brackets on thy ex for my 4 inch lift. Home made i beleave pic

Well it broke on the tabs and i had my bud make a plate to replace the the tabs. Well i put it all back together and still my driver side wheel has a lil play in it to move right to left on ground. As well as pass side what could be the problem here?

I dont think the front end is supposed to have any play in it at all. I have looked and looked and made sure every thing is tight seems to be okay.

well guys let me know all what you think

Thanks

Dennis

did you check your TRE or radius arms and ball joints?

I will check the rad arms for loose bolts. But how would i tell if the upper ball joints are loose. I know about the tie rod ends but just seems to loose up front. to where i move the the Driver wheel the whole Front end moves.

just jack the front end up and put on jack stands. grab the bottom of the tire and see if it moves.

you might also want to check the axle pivot bushings as well.

Oh well i know for a fact that the driver side Wheel will turn left to right without wheel. NOT a hole lot but has play.

Boy i hate this TTB setup what a pain in the butt and im not replaceing anything major cause im building my new axles as i speak 44 and a ford 9.

I'll take a look today and see as i take it for a test drive to see how she does. but before the bracket broke the 1st time the front was loose a lil. I dont remember if its the same or not can't tell.

Jacked up truck to check things out. Both wheels move slightly not alot but a small push up and down. Does this sound like bad upper/lower joints or just loose? Both wheels have more play side to side and makes steering wheel jiggle as well. Also my steering wheel is mad off being when bracket broke it was moveing tires every which way. Whats the best way to get them streight or close. Its a trail/comp rig so it does not to be perfect.

Thanks guys

i found the bolt on the side for upper ball joint tightend it seems to be no play in from up and down just side to side prob bad outter tie rods..

thanks

...When was the last time you checked your inner bearings and what size tires are you running???...Do you have manual hubs???..If so, this might help..:dunno:

...If you can rock the wheel at all at 12 o clock and 6 o'clock, it is your ball joints...At 3 and 9, it is your bearings or your liinkage...That is, if you rock each wheel independently at 3 and 9...
