I knew that was coming before i even clicked on the link.

Froader, it just occurred to me i didn't confirm with you that i wasn't coming to see your explorer, i just kinda presumed you knew since i wasn't heading in that direction anyway. So if you were waiting, i'm really sorry.

So a little update, the seller of that explorer called me a little while ago saying that the guy who wanted to buy didn't get his loan from the bank, so he now has till friday to get the money. If the guy doesn't come up with the money, then the seller will call me and i can go look at it. So....

RJ, if the deal doesn't go through for the other guy, would you still want to come look at it Saturday? Or Sunday? Also, there's a second explorer i want to check out in the same city (el cajon), so i will probably go whether the green one is sold or not. Let me know.

And everyone else, i still would need to know some answers to all of the questions i had.

im taking my white 4door explorer to wildomar on saturday i was gonna work on the nav on sunday. but if your goin on sunday ill just go with you instead. do you have a link for the other ex?

is this the one yoru talking about? i've seen listed before. price seems high, but who knows how good the condition really is. lets go check it out.

I think you forgot the link again, but it's a flat black one w/ full glass by mcneil.

BTW, i haven't called him yet, and i wont know about the green one til friday. I'll get back to you friday.

I like the black one better.

1. It's complete
2. Front bumper
3. Rear has deavers already
4. We know mcniel's (guessing it's perry's) kits work. (wheeled with justin at Truckhaven and Moab)
5. Rear glass already
6. Doesn't have 17s... (I like sidewall on a tire)
7. Priced about the same for the one that isn't complete.
8. I'm sure you can get it for less than he's asking.
9. IT'S FLAT BLACK!! :p:

X2 for the black one. I saw this ad yesterday and was gonna post the link but i forgot. Looks like a well built rig.

Im in the same boat as you with wanting a 4wd now. Im gonna be selling the explorer soon for around 4k and using all that money to build the new front end on whatever i get.

Don't let the fact that it doesn't have coilovers make you not want it. I know that could be a big eye catcher/factor, but it shouldn't be. You can get c/o easier and probably cheaper in the long run than trying to figure out the shafts and getting leaf packs for the rear of the green one.

I am kinda torn between the two also. Every other truck i have called about does not have the front extended shafts to go along with the extended beams, so that will be one thing to find out when i call. I do like the fact the other one has coilovers and an engine cage, but i know the mcneil stuff can take a lot. The guy's asking almost $1000 more than the green one, so that's a factor too, but where the final sell price would end up is anyone's guess. The rear glass isn't a big deal to me, i could do with it or without it. I'd almost rather not have it because in a tight parking spot, the rear doors wouldn't open as much. And those rims look like 16s to me, and i'd need new tires, but i'd prolly just look for a used wheel/tire package. I'll call tonight and get more info up here.

And i'm sorry to say it Froader, but i prefer the green EB paint over the flat black :p:

Rear glass isn't any wider than front glass and still isn't as wide as a full size vehicle. The other thing about the paint I like is that it's all one color, not EB paint and then 'light blue' fenders.

I'm curious to hear if the front has working 4x4. Let me know if you're heading that way this weekend. Maybe you could drop off the hitch if you do. Good luck.

...and why does nobody on race-dezert not know the difference between foot and inches with the apostrophy and quotation mark?

But the thickness of the door grows by 3 or 4 inches with fiberglass, so when the outside of the fiberglass is at the same point as the outside of the door WOULD be, the inside of the door is 3 or 4 inches closer to the body...i really don't know how to explain it clearly.

I'll bring it by if i head that way. And that is not even the worst of the grammar/punctuation problems that most people on there have

wow, I need to put my truck up for sale if they are going for that kind of money in So cal.

Matt, I really think you need to think about buying one for $2,000 and building it. I'm thinking a mint condition, never lifted truck, add an autofab kit, used 33 and wheels, gears, and you'll be into for less and know it wasn't rallied out in the dez.

^^^ is what i plan on doing here soon. Except im looking at a 2nd gen awd mounty for the project. Mounty71 there is a navajo on dezertrangers for 800 it needs some work but it might be a good starting point for a project.
