2001 Ford Explorer Sport: when the car is cold, I have to rev the engine to get into gear. Revving the engine will engage the gear and drive okay, but even after getting into 3rd gear, the car will rev up as if I'm not in gear anymore, but after a maybe 3-5 seconds, the transmission will go back into gear. Once warmed up, the problem goes away. If I have to apply the brake hard, the car will go out of gear again until I rev it up (regardless of if the car is warm or cold). Somestimes the OD light will flash, but not every time.
