2012 Ford Explorer Limited Black Screen

I have tried removing negative battery cable several times and still not working. The radio will work for about a minute afterwards then stops. The dashboard screen shows Audio Off. Navigation shows compass. A/C can be controlled for steering wheel and controls below screen. I have checked fuse 29 and it’s good. Power is there after radio stops. The radio power and tune buttons will make a noise when push for a short time after first starting car but nothing happens. Is this the APIM gone out or what else should I look at before replacing it.

Welcome to the Forum.
It would appear that the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) may be bad. The APIM is the 'brains' of the MFT (MyFordTouch) system.
There are several existing threads on this issue.
