2013 Truckhaven Rock Run Oct 25th-27th

Well, I just dropped the X off for a mod that I can't do... in preparation for Truckhaven.

No longer will everyone have to scatter when I come down a long hill.. The X is getting the trans rebuilt. That means I'll have engine braking AND the converter stall will no longer be 2700+ rpms...

I figured 4 years wheeling a trans with no engine braking was enough..

Finally found the thread! Ill finally make this trip and I hope to bring a group of family and friends with me since I won't know anyone there.

Pumpkin is back in action. I just finished the transfer case e-brake install and it's been out for a successful test drive.:chug:

Looking forward to the run. I think Char needs to start a pot luck thread:smoke:

Demo, once you get out there it's like one big family :D No one is a stranger for very long ;)

..Just throwing this out there..:D

..I'm heading down to San Diego the end of this week so if anyone needs anything picked up or delivered to/from San Diego let me know..:burnout:

...With as much as Chris is working now, he probably is banking more than the rest of us..:D

..It sounds like I will be in the same area as last time so I'll text you on the way over as I'll need the addy again...

I will be attending. I've never been there before. What do I need to take?

So I'm assuming I would take the 10 East to the 86 South and exit North Marina? I'm off the 10 and the 15. Let's caravan

You "camping" arrangments should take high winds in to account. In the evening as the sun is setting there can be some pretty good gusts that normal tents may not hold up to. I intend to sleep in the back of my Monsterneer.

Your driving directions are correct. It's what you do after you turn on to N. Marina that you need to worry about. It is sometimes hard to hook up with a group if you don;t know exactly where they are camped at. Especially at night or if the group is out on a run.

We would be glad to have you out L.A.X. We've been going to Truck Haven since 1999 and it's always a great time :chug:

At this time we're planning on heading out on Friday afternoon. Thought it would be fun to pick up April from school with JP on the trailer ready to head out.:D:JP:

We pretty much settled on one spot nowadays...

Take N. Marina drive until it turns to dirt...

You will get to a place where you can go straight through a hill or bear right.. Bear right there...

Follow it around to the right and once you get past the hill on the left we are normally the first clearing on the left..

Here is a gps track I recorded a few years ago.. the Stop/Start place is our normal spot..

If that spot is taken we are just to the north of that spot.. But the hard sided campers like our normal spot better.

Char and I are shooting for Friday afternoon at the latest. We may get out there Thursday afternoon just to sit under the stars for another night:thumbsup:

I'm "planning" on leaving OMG its Late on Thursday so I can be there by noon on Friday. There is very slight chance I may stay until Monday morning just so I don't have to head back on Sunday when I'm overly tired. No a/c, no cruise and 55mph the entire way makes that 9 hour drive even longer. :(
