Okay, I got the oem bumper back... going to start surgery now (if this mac won't stop logging me out, i'll have an easier time with this) Hey Sam, it's just a new bumper being added... nothing happened. Thanks for checking up :)

So what gets cut?

bumper to be cut.. :)

I'm not sure it's going to look as good as you guys think. The stock bumper covers all the 'crap' that is the rear of the truck. The exhaust pipe is going to look really low, the area under the lights (unless you do like Stic-o says), is going to look like its missing. Just my opinion of course, but I did a quick PS.

Might look better if you could get it all plated so you can't see through it. :dunno:

One idea that I was thinking of to go under the lights is if you can get some diamond plate steel...fab up some covers that go in that area. I have seen that done on similar setups on trucks and it looks better...then paint/powder coat to match the bumper.

Afterthought: That is what you were suggesting already maybe?

Nice PS! Thank you!

Okay, here's what will happen... The oem bumper will be cut at the midline and reattached. A lot of black paint will be added under there... and:

see...you better! or else!!!:D:p:

I'm listening, but it's tough trying to turn this vehicle into what Ford didn't want it to be - and I know nothing of how this is supposed to be done except from what you all say and what your vehicles look like... most shops see a 3rd gen and waive us away... but it's changing, little by little. :)

Yeah, it's amazing how much people like a lifted/ modded 3rd gen.
They really draw attention.

ok the anticipation is killing me im about to go buy my own and do it.

looks good so far

True...

Before, tire shops, fabricators, etc would just say "Sorry, we can't help." I actually had a business owner here tell me I was a fool and the vehicle could not be changed. If I didn't listen to Bigapple, and go with the CoilSprings, I would have had to hear "A fool..." for trying. Now I drive by the shop and turn up the Reggaeton...

It's the tire that held it up...

Thanks! The spare is now 265/70/17...

If some one gave me a 3rd gen, I tare my truck apart and build a bad a$$ 3rd gen.

..and you can quote me on that!;)

Ha! :) I believe you, but if you have to rely on other people (shops), you would see what it's like to have people tell you - "No." Now, I tell them to find an application or fabricate something, but now I won't take no for an answer. For what I can do on my own, I do... But some shops love the challenge of a 3rd gen.

But look at the 3rd gens on this board - they are getting taller, darker, more aggressive and capable of things that almost everyone said weren't possible. People said the Explorer ended with the 2nd gen - Those of us with 3rd gens didn't have solid axles or the things needed to make a custom lifted Ex, bagged, maybe... But despite all the challenges, it is being done. And when people look you in the eyes and say, "You can't do much with an Explorer." (I used to say it). We can now say, "Bulls#it." :)

The same thing happend with 2nd gen's;) Everybody said it could not be done...and then it was.

Remember there is a lot more too a 2nd gen sas then a 1st gen. This is why love the idea of a double sas. It hasn't been done, and yet is very possiable;)

Some day it will happen though...and people will be amazed all over again.:salute:

Tommorow I'l be working on my mother-in-laws '03, and belive me I will be looking very much at how much work it would be to do a 2xsas:D

See, you know it! And still have plans for more :) That is great! When the Menace is back home, I'll cruise Verdugo Ave, Alameda, and SF Road... I'll keep my eye out for you :)

i..........wanna.............see.........

I only have a delicious pic of my sister in law, which I cannot share. If I could, I would post it until tomoro :)
