And was this enough to transfer into the engine? Rocker arm Bolt, spring retainer? Wrist pin? Who knows
This could be two separate issues that happened at the same time.

Summit copied my tool from 1979. $9.99 at Summit.
On a cylinder head that has bolts instead of studs, use a long enough bolt with the correct thread and long enough to get up level or a little taller than the spring and related parts.

Heading to Seattle Saturday with parts, tools and a trailer. Very likely the truck is coming g back to the shop for repairs. Will get it fixed as quickly as humanly possible. Cannot wait to find out what went wrong.

Do you have a small camera that would fit inside the spark plug hole?

Yes I do have a boroscope

My plan, plan to pull the heads.

That sound still haunts me since first build 347, 2004. It was number 4 that was hurt. Stethoscope to freeze plug on block areas.
Edit
The actual slap is near the head when it compresses. You wont hear that at the oil pan.
Edit edit.
My number 4 was saved with new piston, rings for all, and re hone. It was .004 larger than others but still in spec to use that bore.

What happened to cyl 4?
Meaning what let loose and caused you to need new piston and rings

Turning a potentiometer during an improper method of tuning ( maf signal modification) . Going higher resistance was leaning out, hit high spot in flaky pot during wot pull. Was screaming until it wasnt

So Lean condition caused weak metal to explode…

I think with this truck it started to go lean after it developed the low oil condition… the i oil must have gone somewhere

Trip west delayed by one day I ran out of talent yesterday
My Friday repairs (trucks) and appointments (elevators) took too long, no time to prep for trip. So will get everything (parts tools truck trailer) ready today and leave real early in am

I have a good excuse though… I left my flashlight sweatshirt and obd scanner at one of my new clients shops……had to run all the way over there to get it

For those who don’t know I’m a 7.3 fanatic / specialist ;) there are exactly two monster limousines in north Idaho and they are both 7.3 rigs and they both found me…..

I could do without the dual rear axle, you could fit a 10 ton axle under that bed and a super single tire.

The suspension on this thing is a work of… well it functions. The bed has so much bodywork to make that happen but they forgot a fuel door

These are the “before” pics I am sure

I can tell a massive amount of labor was involved to make it happen. Some people like the looks of tandem axles, to me it's like having a pickup truck with twin stacks coming up thru the bed.

Wait till you see what the driveshafts are doing to make both axles work it’s a **** show under there. Yes I said driveshafts with an “s”

I’m on Powerstrokenation (psn) and I will be starting a north Idaho monster limo repair service thread

I would have got a set of Rockwell 20k axles and the simple stub shaft to connect the two. Air ride and the new axles have lockers in them. My 22 western star has 3 switches for traction control, lock each drive axle independently and a switch to lock both axles together.

First I was going to ask if it was photoshopped. Stretch cab Superduty, sure i've seen it before. Dual rear axle was a new one on me.

Then I was going to ask if you were hiding the long lost Gwaii from TRS. It looks like somethhing he'd build, but I don't think that he's be asking for help or hiring out maintenance work on anything. Besides last anyone heard from him, he was living on an island off the west coast of Canada and loving it.

I'm not a 7.3 fanatic, but I've got one. 2000 F-250 extended cab 4x4 with manual trans and transfer case. Don't use it much. Don't have much use for it honestly, but I couldn't pass up the price and it goes every time I ask it to. Only about 203k miles, but I feel like it could use a fair bit of maintenance and service from age. Maybe some upgrades like that KC Turbos rebuilt and wheel set and other parts that I've had sitting on the shelf for the last three years. Install a EGT and boost gauge so I can safely turn up the PHP Hydra tuner I've already installed.

Anyhow, that's good information that I'm going to store away in case I need to pick your brain about that thing in the future.

Heck yeah! Grind hard!

Sorry about the hiccups on the Ranger. What a pain man! It seems like there is always something.

Are we there yet?

I know that bike, and that shop. Didn't really see them with the monster limo taking up the shot, but now I recognize the vette, the hummers, and the treehouse. The tags make sense now too. I guess I never watched the videos where it was featured, not sure how I missed it. The onlyfans wall should have been a clue as well, I'm sure it's been in the background of at least a few videos..

That's awesome and I guess that means that YouTubers are real.

Those guys a cool in person as they seem on the tube?
