Is the Fan Cluch Wrench on the 5.0L the EXACT SAME one used on the 4.0L? What direction do you turn the Nut?

You need 2 wrenches. One fits around the bolts on the pulley, and the other fits behind the fan blades on the nut. I bought a "Ford Fan Clutch Wrench Set" and it didn't work. I had to borrow the loaner kit from the auto parts store. It had every wrench you could ever need.

same tools, well my Napa Ford fan wrench set came with two wrenches and one fork style pulley holder, but th esame wrench fits 4.0L and 5.0L

The 5.0L fan is normal rotation I believe, not reverse

Regardless of make, model, or year, fan clutch rotation is VERY easy to ascertain: Whichever way the fan turns while it's running is the direction you need to turn the fan clutch to remove it. Think about it: if the fan needed to turn the other way, it would always be trying to unscrew itself while the engine was running.

I suspect there may be a few exceptions out there, but I've never seen a Ford that was any other way.
