5R55E Bands

Hello,

I have see a couple different numbers for adjusting front and intermediate bands on my 2000 Ford Explorer 5R55E. The ATSG manual I have says 2 out on the front and 2.5 out on the intermediate. I have read some threads here which say 2 out on the intermediate. Can someone straighten me out on this? I adjusted them today, intermediate at 2.5 out, and then at 2 out, it seems to run better at 2 out so I left it there, haunted a bit because my manual said 2.5.

95-98 was 2-1/2. After 98 it is 2 turns. You did well grasshopper.

I guess the 4R44E, and 4R55E would be 2-1/2. This was the first time that I came across anything that said 2-1/2. Would both be that way, or just one on the 4R?
