I am getting a popping/clunk on turning at slow speeds (usually r turns.)

It feels like something is binding then releases.

This car has 230k, but new diff, new transfer case, new upper and lower control arms and ball joints, new cv shafts (including front diff), new sway bushings and etc.

I jacked the car up, no obvious play. Car was aligned 30 days ago and I asked about the tie rods, they said they are fine.

The clunk only happens 1 time until the next turn, and sometimes takes 3 or 4 turns to clunk. In other words it isn't consistent.

I am thinking trans mount since that was out to fix the rear seal leak. Tie rod ends (even though I don't feel anything loose), rear u-joints, seems strange, but ...

Any other ideas? This is hard to diagnose and I don't want to bring it back to the diff rebuilder or tranny shop for the xfer case unless I am sure that is what it is.

Thanks

You said sway bar bushings what about swap bar end links?

Yes they are all done. Moog.

The problem is what looks like a bushing next to the transfer case. I think it is a body mount, but I can't look at it in detail now.

I just happened to take another look and noticed that there is almost no rubber and I am sure that is the reason on turns it clunks as the two pieces flex and bind.

I will take a picture to document for this thread when I repair it.

I just had neck surgery so I can't work on it for a week or so, but I doubt it is a critical situation, just annoying.

popping, clunking while turning sounds like a cv joint to me. one of the new cv axles defective maybe? not sure why a body mount would cause this noise, but...

It is definitely not the CV. It only pops once when the weight shifts (i.e. going around a corner).

There is no rubber on the mount so the metal binds when flexing. It also makes a noise like a shot shock and I couldn't figure the vibration out for the life of me. Not it makes sense. You feel it on the drivers feet.
