I have a some of questions everyone is talking about trimming the tabs on the 4406 TC and I know at one time there were pictures of this, but all the pictures in most of the posts are gone, is there anyone that has pictures that they can post of the tabs that need to be cut/ground off? It would be greatly appreciated if they can post them.
Also, what when I search for the rear driveshaft on car-parts.com this is the only choices it gives me

I have a 4R70W Transmission in my 98 XLT v8 and according to my Chilton shop manual the transfer case has only 5 bolts holding it to the transmission the 4406-transfer case has 6 bolt holes how does this work on the 4R70W transmission, is there an adapter plate needed? I ask these questions because with all the threads on this swap it seems like everything bolts right in fore the most part and before I spend any money on getting the parts I want to know exactly what I will need.

I thought that we needed one from a 5.4? Does it matter what transmission will the driveshaft from the E4OD work?

Yes, I was getting prepared to do the swap last year, but the funds needed to be used on other things so am going to try to get it done soon, still have access to most of the parts needed, just want to make sure I know exactly what parts will be needed for this since I see so many different threads with conflicting info from the original thread I read last year (MountaineerGreen's Thread).

Thanks in advance for any and all help

afaik no adapter needed, as long as it out of the right rig, it should bolt up afaik. have found the shop manuals to be wrong at times, usually i find EF to be right instead. afaik as far as the 5.4 as long as it comes out of the right rig, it should work. iirc that only applies to the rear suspensions opposed to front, so for a front DS should be fine. same like the ARC explorers have the same driveshafts as non arc
