Hello, I'm tired of getting leaks where plastic meets metal on these explorer radiators. I would like to find a good aftermarket 3 or 4 core all metal radiator. This is the second radiator I've had the same problem with in this truck. Any suggestions appreciated? Thanks.

Do a search, I was posing the same question about an all-metal 3-core about 6 months ago.

In short you're looking at $350+ for a custom (from a shop) all-metal 3 or 4 core. Be-Cool makes a 3-row all-metal one, but it costs $550. I ended up going with a Ford Super Cooling 3-row radiator for $250. It's got the crappy plastic and metal design, but if it lasts me 8 years like the first one it will be ok. I couldn't justify spending $400-$600 on a radiator when my truck's engine isn't worth more than $900 at best. Now, once the 4.0 wears out and I drop 302 in there with E-303 cam..then I might consider dropping $500 on a rad.

pinch the crimps down more where the plastic tanks cr hooked on....seems the radiator people are lazy and some of their crimps are not tight......

Thanks for your replies. Yes, I was thinking about redoing those crimps too! I guess I'll try that first before spending moooore money on the Exploder.
