Welcome Mike,
cool, i'm looking for a set for a '04 Ex EB - 245-65-17's is whats on there now. Only about 6/32's left on the tread.
I've run Michelins on my heep, over 80k miles, on LTX A/T's, i'd love to buy them but with things going sour in detroit i can't afford the new ones. Anyways I don't like the OEM Rugged Trails real rough and when i put on new OEM shocks about 20k ago, they ride firm. .like a brick. My Ex will be used in heavy snow, rain, dirt, two tracks about 30% and street/highway the rest.
Two questions that you might be able to answer?
I kinda like the reviews on the Firestone Destination AT's, how would they compare (Michelins and BFGoodrich)?
I also noticed that the Firestone Destination AT's 255-65-17 (108s) are about $15 cheaper than the 245's (105s) and only about a half inch difference, 4lbs heavier, greater load, would I have any problems that you might be aware of in going the slightly bigger size? What’s weird is the 235 is also is rated for a 108s but for some reason the weight and load dips when it goes to 245’s and increases in price, then back up with the 255’s, my thought is since the Ex is one of the best sellers out there and the 245’s so popular that it’s actually a cheaper tire and more expensive – bigger profit. . if that make sense.
What could you possibly come up with?
Jim
