AWD Burn Out

Hmm i don't think thats factory pretty sure they only came RWD and slow...
Well I'm bored-so schools on

Launched in 2003, the Silverado SS is a high-performance pickup truck built by Chevrolet. It is based on the standard 1500 Silverado, with upgrades in drive train and both exterior and interior appearance. It uses the 6.0 liter Vortec High-Output V8 rated at 345 hp (257 kW) at 5200 rpm and 380 ft·lbf (515 N·m) of torque at 4000 rpm. This was the same engine used for the second generation Cadillac Escalade. Chevrolet and GMC advertise this engine as the "VortecMAX", while Cadillac calls it the "HO 6000". The SS debuted with a standard All Wheel Drive setup, but was later changed to the current Rear Wheel Drive only format. The Silverado SS also comes with the Z60 performance suspension and 20 in (508 mm) chrome wheels. In 2006, Chevrolet released a special edition Silverado SS under the name "Intimidator SS" (licenced by Dale Earnhardt Inc.) that came with several minor appearance upgrades, but left the bulk of the truck the same.

Its not yet known if GM will build A GMT900 Silverado SS.

Ha wow, and they still only run mid-high 15s.. Chevy just can't build a fast truck. I've only seen the RWD ones at out here.

True, none of the Intimidator SS models were that special (unless you're a huge nascar fan) but there is also an aftermarket company that made one with a 5 speed that Stacey David showed on Trucks.

They are pretty heavy, and there is a LOT of torque management built in the tune. Full bolt on cammed trucks run low 13's high 12's NA. Shoot, even a 4.8 ECSB truck can run 13's with full bolt ons.

They are only around 5k lbs if i'm not mistaken. They perform poorly for what they should be able to do. A stock first gen Lightning will keep up if not beat an SS.

Don't even get me started on the bolt on potential... :D

My friends turbo talon will do an AWD squeal, but an actual AWD burnout (burnout being smokey) is impossible as far as I can imagine.

The problem is, with all 4 wheels spinning aka, pulling it forward., there is nothing to keep it from moving forward. You must have HUGE power to accomplish this, if it is possible at all.

Yea, huge power that no x-fer case cold hold up to....like axle snapping power. I want that much power :( :D

Exactly, you have to have, lots of power, and slick tires. And if you launch hard enough and get all 4 tires to spin long enough they will smoke, but not for long.

Well, there will be a lot of smoke if you do that, but not from your tires:D:p:

The rally guys do AWD donuts regularly to celebrate wins, and the make plenty of smoke..
As for in a straight line.. maybe in a light enough chassis with skinny hard compound tires...

Or if you find a newer diesel with simple work like chip, exhaust, intake..etc done to it, it won't hesitate to spin all 4 tires on public roads and then there are some diesels that I have seen pulling 50lbs of boost making 2200+ ft lbs of torque...they will spin rubber but not sit there like the video that JT linked...

My friend told be about some twin turbo diesel pushing something like 110 psi per turbo or something ridiculous...

I am pretty sure that I have seen a cummins in a newer 06' or 07' dodge pulling 90-100 but I couldn't find it so I figure I would just say 50 cause that can be easily reached, the new 6.4 twin turbo fords are setup with a system that can reach 42 lbs

I'd love to see what happens to a hondas 1.8L or 2L engine when 100 lbs of boost is pushing through it...

My mountanier does it with a 250shot, It would spinn 1st gear and chirp 2nd on the stock tires. Even the shop car were i work does it too ,Its a 03 porsche 911 turbo with 650hp at the tires . Bye the way my truck had a 3000stall in it, cam, torque monster headers, build trans, cat back mac , and a cold air from mac , the porsche its all evomotosport

I bet you guys are starting to think my idea wasnt that bad to begin with huh :)

now with my bfg 32x11.50s i cant even brake loose in snow! :p

I am not being a jerk, but prove it. With a 250 shot, that would likely make your truck the fastest 2nd Gen Explorer.
