AWD Burn Out

Ive seen a few AWD burnouts in the past. Mostly awd eclipse/talon. Its actually funny to watch, the car will actually rotate as its burning out. But each time ive seen it the end result was a broken center diff.

My mounty is down for the year ,im actualy porting my heads right know, after the 250 shop in broke piston # 7 and destroy the head gst , i will send pic later, At the track it did 12.45-12.69 all day at 110-112, my 60ft were 1.69-1.78 on stock tires, it would have gone faster put ,i was having issues with the nitros even with a 20lb bottle ,i will send pics

That gives us hope for all of these 4500 pound bricks. I'd love to get 60ft. times below 2.0 seconds, that wins most races. Justin, you need a torque converter, try an Edge TC. Regards,

How can i post the pics that i have, help!!

Iron-Mike,

All the wiring is plug and play. PM me if you need any info/help.

Sorry to re-hijack the thread, but the 4406 swap is my baby... :)

Aaron, do you recall how much length difference there was in your front drive shaft(old versus new)? I believe that I have the makings of a shaft which will be at least two inches longer than the AWD shaft. Regards,

Not sure Don, I can measure my current front shaft (although I believe other members have since measured and posted). My old AWD shaft is back in MA...

It's okay, I still have the AWD TC and BW4406 together. I'll do a little measuring later.

I am not being a jerk, but prove it. With a 250 shot, that would likely make your truck the fastest 2nd Gen Explorer.

There would need to be allot more than 250 hp worth of nitrous to top the current fastest Gen2 Exploder. More like a full bolt-on and cammed X plus a 350-400 shot required to bust that. Upgrades to many other components would be required...

Ya, I can't remember the tread but somebody posted pics of a draged out 2gen running 8's

Hmm.. who is the current fastest 2nd gen? I was thinking James is, because I heard "The Troll" has been retired. Well, there is that Pro Street Explorer, but I dont consider it an Explorer anymore(tube chassis).

Im not trying to be the fastes, and as far as me running mid 12s it happen , It could have gone faster , If it was tune ,Im guessing the truck had 210 to the wheels and with the spray being a 250shot , 430 to the wheels, and insane amounts of torque ,that would give me mid to high 12s on a good day 70-80 degre weather, Im triyng to post pic of the truck and vid, me racing a mustang with heads, cam and intake ,fullexhace, and giving him 2cars and the leave so u guys can see how i 60ft him and won by 3 cars the mustang runs low 13s at the track on drag radials

I highly highly doubt that X you mention was even close to running 8's. It is possible to push an X that fast, but not on the power that the guy said he was running.

I still count Bill Rotolante's X "Troll". James might be coming close to that area, maybe even shattering the hell out of it, this next season though depending on a few things.

My truck for next season will consist of , 306 eagle pistons & rods, gt40p heads ported, and bigger valves& spring, ported lower intake , same cam trickflow stg1, same build trans & stall speed 3000 ,and exhace w/ the torque monster headers, Im hooping to go as fast as mid 11s and this time on a tune!, Im hopping for 490 rwh at the tire,If my math is right it should be able to happen, that is if i dont break anything, like the front diff or the transfercase

We'll be tuning mine for 12psi in the spring, but I will be upgrading my compressor first. I have been wanting to take mine to the track, but the one here is closed. I figure James and I will be at about the same power level, but he has a big weight advantage. I still have the traction advantage though ;) I haven't gotten the nerve to launch under boost yet though

I see a broken block in your future trying to make that much power on the juice... that is unless you have an aftermarket block.

With a main support and good machine work and balance for a 28oz harmonic balancer, it should be fine, i seen mustangs running more power than me and are still running ,the record for a stock block is 675hp at the crank it was in hot rodding mag, with good machine work the block should be fine!

Ummm
Hitting 675 on a dyno is a universe away from hitting it off the line-

Think man---

FYI, the 28 ounce balancer isn't available for the Explorer 302. I'm hoping that a gentleman does call me back about building one, he sounded hopeful.

Robert, What might you shoot for as a pulley diameter(balancer)? The stock balancer is about 5.75" in size, and the Kenne Bell 2200 has a 13,000 rpm limit. I think that keeping it near 6.5" would not over run the accessories too much. Something larger like that does allow for larger blower pulleys. I figured that I would be hunting a 94/95 Mustang pulley near 6.5 to 7" in diameter. Thoughts,

If James sticks with his current setup, or similar to it then you two may come close in power. However, that is assuming he doesn't do what he and I talked about.
