Im def down, in a few weeks im going to get a buch of ECX people to meet up at bellmore. i was going to ask you if you wanted to come.

whelp.. I think I may have found my problem.. my mounty has been in the shop all week cos of the transmission.. it seems when they rebuilt it last time they didn't do it right or something.. the reason mines so slow apparnetly.. is cos its slipping signifigantly.

or at least thats what they suspeceted.. its due back tomorrow.. ( yea right lol) maybe the neon thing is fixable!

I am definitly in for a meet at DPA or something else, just keep me updated on a date. A trip to Bald Hill would definitly be worth it if anyone wants to trek out that far (exit 63 on LIE).

I'm fairly certain your being sarcastic. I hear a chip with the 1.8 turbo VW motor adds something like 50 horses! I guess those motors are tuned way down!

I hope on the Explorer from my Mustang and what a big difference. My Mustang is much much much quicker.

I thought the charade was? Last time I saw one I SWEAR I think it had a weedeater engine under the hood, and the seats looked like they were made of cardboard, they probably couldn't afford the optional cloth seats

You want to beat that Neon to the next light? Change your gears to 4.10's or 4.56. Thats the cheapest way....


My finace has a 97 Wrangler withthe 258 straight 6, we ordered it with the d44 in teh back and 4.10 gears. Even with 32" tires that thing is quick off the line!!!!!

I've got 3.73's, 31" tires and a hell of a lot of mods to my OHV and we run neck and neck after a few hundered feet, the Jeep is faster right off the line, but she's a stick and I'm an auto so I catch her....

Oh and the OHV 4.0L can hold it's own against most imports, but the gearing change will flat out take em....

Dont bother with the Supercharger, nitrous may help but do you really want to put that stress on your OHV?

If you want to go that fast get a SOHC or a 5.0...Man I tell you that SOHC 4.0L is impressive. I would love to slap one in my BII, that would be scary fast.....
