Butchered rear quarter panels... sort of.

we have exchanged PM-s at least a zillion times... don't want to bother him right now for nothing... when I'm ready... when I'm ready...

And I'm still cutting even more of the rear quarter panels... here's a pic of the right side:

and after more cutting:

I'm doing this to wrap the rear bumper around... it's gonna be just like the front bumper - tube wrapped around... don't think I'm gonna put a spare on it... spare goes inside into the box...??? right? you'll see.

The left side has been fiberglassed... sanded, bondoed, sanded again... and it should be ready for paint within a week with my speed... just don't get enough time to play with this truck. I have been working on the winch today... winch fits, solenoid box doesn't... so I had to fab brackets to mount it somewhere... later,

OK... finally! Here's some updated photos...
tell me what you think?

BTW - truck is changing color too...

WOW you did a great job, I think i'm gonna have to try that now.

rear bumper need to go! You did the paint I assume? nice job!

Rear bumper will go... out of place now.

I did paint myself... not a perfect paint job but it will definatelly be corrected on the trail
:D

Conversion of the front to Euro spec is on hold as I'm waiting for pass side headlight... still in the mail.
:(

Whta are your ideas for the rear bumper? pre-runner, swing out tire carrier style.

As I mentioned before... some kind of pre-runner bumper out of a 1" or 1.5" tubing that would wrap around... possibly with hitch - no tire carrier. I will keep the spare inside in the box built for that purpose... but you never know. I'm pretty much done for now. Whenever I get more time and $$$ I might do some more work but for now I'm done. Still have a few honey do's to take care of...

2X4 steel rock sliders in place of rusted rockers... SOA... SAS... the list is getting longer every day
;)

Very nice sir.

Big Bird? It's called Caterpilar Yellow...

I was looking for a darker yellow but this will do. Rear and front fenders, roofline... now I need some trail pinstripes on it...

perhaps if I get my hands on some good 33" meats I might be able to go to the Badlands the end of next month.

Looks real good.

VERY eye catching color too.

hey, great job on it, i was wanting to do that to mine, how long would you say it takes, at a fast pace, no paint, just cutting, wiring, and glassing?

at a fast pace it would probably take you a couple of days... that's all (if you're good at it). It might take longer if you run into a problem.

thanks, and do u have any wiring diagrams or can you tell me color to colors, if its not a bother
thanks

You've got to do a little switching around. Once you cut the wire at the emergency switch on the steering wheel you'll have to run one end of the wire (the one coming from the brake light switch) to the taillights. It's a light green wire. Back at the taillights you'll have to switch wires a bit. If you get the taillights get them with some wiring and bulb sockets so you can just splice it in inside the vehicle. Once you've got the taillights (95-97) then we can work on the wires since Ford have used different wire colors sometimes. Let me know then.
