C & L MAF Install

Contact Doug ( http://www.bamachips.com/ ) for pricing information.

You do not have to use a special tune with this MAF.
Asked this before, will do so again.
Is this item an aftermarket Mas airflow sensor, or an adapter with a larger bore, to mount the OEM Mas airflow sensor to?

The second thing. It's just a big "hunk of aluminum" that you mount your OEM sensors inside. You know me, I'm was always a skeptic re: aftermarket MAF. I have read some good press on C&L (search around the newsgroups). For some reason, this setup seems to be for real. And for a change, there are numbers to support the improvement as you've seen.

I have some $$$ burning a hole in my pocket all the sudden. ;)

you quoted me I will do the same
I asked a valid question, about a new item, never got an answere.
was not me that said big hunk of aluminum, so get your facts in order before you post

before you get too upset spindle, i suggest to reread the first post.
check out the third paragraph, the question you had to ask twice is pre-answered there.

im interested in how much this 'hunk' costs, if anyone finds out.

ITs not on Doug's website that I saw, so no prices posted yet.

Ya think? I copied my description from the other guy that mentioned the "big hunk of aluminum". Where did I say you said that? Remember that song by Carly Simon? Maybe you should read a bit closer yourself.

email Doug. I'm sure he'll help you out. His customer service is 2nd to none.

What the hell? I was only joking around when I said that. No need to start flipping out because I said hunk. Geeze!

Todd, it's a hunk of metal to me too, albeit a nice looking one that seems to work. I understood what you were getting at.

before we waste this entire page on nothing, i found these on their(c&l) site.
al said his was a 73mm so the price may be a lil different, but pretty close nonetheless.

this should help you guys settle down a little bit, or see if you can find the difference between these photos.

What are the final numbers corrected for, drivetrain loss? temps. Not being pissy, just need to know

Corrected #'s mean they are corrected for temperature, pressure and humidity so that there is a base reference that all #'s can be compared against. If you're familiar with scientific method, it's what is called "normalization of data". If you want more info, check out http://wahiduddin.net/calc/cf.htm

Good read
I called the Dyno shop I use, was interesting to find out the Dynojets actually have a built in mini weather station.

Al: Did your filter fit right back onto this? You posted in another thread it was 2 1/2" I.D. on the filter.

Not to speak for Al, but the MAC has a 3.5" ID, as does the Volant. I actually have a MAC as well and measured them both. Obviously, you need 3.5" to make the C&L work.

I probably wrote it down wrong then. Thanks celly.

Over the July 4th holiday, I will be doing a mileage test with the C & L MAF.

I have to make a trip to the ranch ( Atlanta area ) and will run the first leg, 510 miles on the dyno tuned 93 program and the return leg on the 89 program.

For this test, no acetone will be used to determine the effect of the C & L.

So,,,,,,,, I wonder if I can just drop the C&L meter into my pretty chrome Pro-M ?

The C&L is not a meter, just the housing. It uses the stock Ford (or aftermarket) electronics.
