I already got Friday off, but have to take in-laws to the airport at 2AM:eek: We'll see what I have left to do on the truck by then:rolleyes: But plan is Friday afternoon.

All ready got fri and sat off so i am heading that way on friday.
Gonna try to leave early to beat the other weekend warriors out of town:D

So are we gonna camp on Marina Dr. or N Marina Dr.?

we're going out on friday too.

I want to go out friday also. Maybe i can follow you Froader, given you know where we are going and i haven't a clue.

joo gotit mang!

We should be out there late Friday night. Save me a big, flat, solid spot for the RV please. I get back from Sacramento about 6pm, then have to pack up and take off.

I always go around Julian, its actually shorter in distance and time when going to Truckhaven. Just remember to use the lower gears when going down the grade into Borrego and take your time, its a long way down if you go over the side.

I will have to go that way then. I always take my time when pulling a trailer. Yeah I don't want to fall over the side :D hehe. although it would probably be a fun ride till you hit the bottom lol.

Make sure you keep your speed down as you start down montizuma grade. It is pretty steep and twisty. Last trip down it last year I had all 4 brakes on my trailer pretty hot when I stopped for gas in Borrego. Granted I was probably overloaded on both the truck (half ton chevy) and on the trailer (7k duel axle car trailer).

If you want to just avoided the grade you can just take s2 back out to the 78 and go the way you normally would if you went through Julian.

desert season......yay

The only problem with that is the narrows on 78 past S-2. I don't like driving an RV or pulling anything through there with those ten foot lanes and 20 mph curves. And, you end up 25 miles out of the way in Octillio.

Holy crap! That jump is insane. So who in our group will be trying that?? :)

...i would if potter would trust me with one of there buggies....;)

I took Friday off so I can be there Friday during the day.. (early afternoon)..

I finished rebuilding my skid pate (xfer case).. I put 1/4" steel plate over just about the entire skid plate.

Since I hear you guys wheel at night I started installing my rock lights.. I just haven't figured where to put my front/rear lights (side lights were easy to install).. I'll be getting my tires this week (trxus MT) to replace my 3/4 worn bfg ats.

Also, What CB channel do people use when at camp/trails? I remember reading that EF used a pair of channels (one from traveling too, the other when they were there).. but I can't find that thread.

For rock lights, most put the front ones behind the front tires, but I have mine in front of the tires mounted to the rad support. Then my rear goes where the spare use to be.

...maniak, here is a good view of stic-o's setup of his rock light locations...:D

...it's seek and find with me, i see 4 of them, 1-front,2-side, and a rear...sorry, i don't do paint...:D
