where i plan to cut.. above the angle tape on the bottom still working on but thought i'd get ideas while i am look for a toelit paper roll to simulate my pivot point for the spare tire holder.

Changed still to come. Split the Center 3" out straight and angle both sides to the body. right not its a straight line. cut the corners and add a side peice to it.

BTW the way Its 3/16 card board so it should be strong enough and its military grade duck tape holding it together. which = way stronger than steel.

Photochop it, throw out ideas. it get build this weekend. (just need to get a box of rods.)

Make sure to fill it with foam for strentgth;)

.....or Packing Peanuts! LMFAO!:bsnicker:

i thought about using spray foam. the expanding type.

for everyone this is a cheap way to make a bumper template and not waste money by miss cutting. Or you could use autocad but i am a hands on guy and this helps.

Looks like it should turn out great.

Your driveway looks like it's in a dangerous spot. Anyone ever miss that stop sign:eek:

its a smalll cult-a-sac(sp) with 5 houses and 90 feet of road. if they do manage to miss it and run into my driveway i alway back in so they will hit my front bumper.. which is all 1/4 - 1/2 thick steel and weights like 95 pounds.

ok for some reason its getting cold outside and the tape doesnt want to stick anymore..

gonna redo the whole thing. make the center step a little smaller in width. right now i got it at teh width of the indent of the liecense plate area. i think i will make it the width of the plate instead. The sides angle back 1" past the steps. hard to side at 10* towards the body to help keep it close.

Ok left cut at an angle of flatness. Right ride angles up toward the outer edge. Which one is more stylish..

anyways heres a pic.

nice aint it? few more teaks and i should be ready to build it. the sides stick out and will run down the body to the rear tires hence why thet are stick out 1-1/2 inches on either side. And i still need to fit a hitch in the center of it. and my space tire rack system...

HONEST thoughts now.... oh and it wil be coming down some its close to the gate for fitting issues.

i like the first bumper a lot more...it conformed better with your rig and i really liked the angles on it, it worked for off roading and looked good on the street...are you going to put any hitch points on it or are you going to conceal a hitch? i just hope it don't rain before you get done, hahaha

yea rain whould suck... and for the bumper i tried 4" side walls on the second one verus 6" but i got 6"x1/4"x20' and 4"x1/4"x20 to work with. Think i will go with the 6" side walls after talking with the wife. Yea i am gonna put a hitch on it, maybe recover points later on.

how about an update you've been working all day on this thing (well since after lunch and you took a 2 hour dinner break).

Sure why not let me upload some pictures.

ok as requested by me i am upload some pictures.. I took many through out the day.

As of right now there is nothing but tack welds on the whole thing. Nothing is permanent.

On to the pics.

anyways still more work to do like the side and the bottom plus finish the step and the hitch mount.

Do you live in on post housing? If so must be nice to have a place to work on your truck. :p:

yep. i do its same and the housing area SGM lives across the street on the left in that gray house, he thinks i am crazy and doesnt enforce the housing rules on me very much.. (he did complain when i had a buddies bronco off the frame in the driveway for a week tho.)
Been to JRTC twice i cant see how you would want to be at Fort Polk.

Not bad for my 5 project and practice for my sas. I will have all the steel i need for it after this and then some.

Stupid grinder

well my cheapo harbor freight grinder died and i was so close yet so far from being done...

here where i got to.. off to find a grinder

weird in that pic it looks like the side stick out way far but really they dont just 1-1/2

Almost there. Still need to taper the sides, reinforce the thing so i can tow and put in the hitch

here is where i stop at for now..

2036219_69_full.jpg

it sits on my jack stands right now so i can make the card board templates for the mounts and reinforcements.

need suggestions for the extras for it. I know it looks large in the pics but in person it looks good
