Doubler isn't low enough?:p:

You can never have too much gear.

Chris, like these guys said at least 5.13. I have these with my 37's and wanted even lower, but I already had them in the 8.8. The 4.0 has no trouble with reving out so don't worry over street driving with a low gear.

To answer your other questions, dig through my SAS thread. My swap came in a little less than your budget so that should give you a good idea of what is possible. Doing the work yourself, you'll be able to do even more with that budget.

Whao, this is going to be an awesome build.

5.13's it is then, also going to Kartek to check out shocks as I'm going to be in Los Chico's Taco's anyway! WOW my wife is pissed i was not home for V-day oh well.

That's awesome. Sounds like some chit I would do. Engaged, and buying trucks instead of rings, etc hahahaha

You better bring her home something nice... One thing I have learned, the wife is cool with the truck as long as she gets her attention.;)

Ya think she would like 14" foxes there a purdy blue. Kidding she got roses and diamond earrings. Very sparkly Very sparkly!

Well this is what I have so far.

1. 2 Dana 44 hp front axles w/ radius arms and steering links
2. Ford 9” rear axle- to be sent to currie ent. For disk brakes and trussing
3. BW 1354 manual transfer case
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

edit

1. Dana 44 hp front axle w/ radius arms and steering links. At currie ent. For trussing, locker and gears.

2. Ford 9” rear axle- at currie ent. For disk brakes, trussing, locker and gears

3. BW 1354 manual transfer case
4. 14" fox 2.0 shocks
5. a bunch of tabs 1"-1.50"
6. wheels and beadlocks
7. radius arms
5. shock towers
6. 200 ft of 1.50 tubing ( who makes a good bender?)
8. hiem joints
9.
10.

1. Seems like 14" works well for alot of people.
2. When I link mine I am using 2.5" currie johny joints with the 1.25" shanks. Pretty beefy.
3. Do a 3 link with a panhard. Look at www.trail-gear.com and see how they do there rear link setup do something like that.
4. When I cage mine I will probably use 1.5" .134 wall. The smaller siz will make it fit better and the thicker wall will make it stronger.
5. The 9" wont spin a housing like an 8.8 will. If you plan on going high pinion. Check out www.truehi9.com Much beefier then the currie unit.
6. If you have 7" between the gastank and the tcase a doubler would fit. I like my doubler alot. An atlas would be sweet but it also cost 4 times as much.
7. Id do my best to keep the truck as close to street legal as possible. Lots f trails start in one area and finish far from the trailers. Being street legal is a huge advantage. Even in truckhaven I have used the highway many times to get back to camp.
8. That new warn one is huge. I would get like a 9000lb one and call it good. I have the warn XP I still need to finis wiring it before I can use it.

Also what kind of shape is the drivers door in? My dad could use one for his 75 f250. Maybe some trim pieces as well if they are good. Also your spare dana 44 you have I bet you could get a nice tiki out of rangerX for it. :D

Matt thanks for the info i plan on going down there in the morning. to check out the 4 link and shock hoops.

wow chris wanna share some of the money with me so i can throw a d 44 in mine lol na i am going to look into that as soon as i get a second job dont make enough right now on the military salary but it is looking good

Chris, you should take a browse through ballastic fabs website. They have a lot of 4 link parts. Also Blue torch fab has some sick 4 link products as well.

ive gotten some stuff from ballistic and even though they have some pretty trick stuff, I wasnt to impressed with the quality.

What didnt you like? I was planning on ordering some stuff from them in the next few days. Do you have any pictures of what you are talking about.

I orded some brackets and shock tabs just to test them out before I got some more stuff and the cuts were all real rough kinda like they were cut with an oxy by hand and never smooth. I may just have to high of expectations but thats just me

sounds like a plasma cut vs a laser cut. Other then the rough cut edge was everything else done to the proper size and seem accurate? There prces are sure alot cheaper then just about anyone else.

that just sounds like poor worksmanship the only thing with that, that i would look in to are the welds to make sure that they are depthed into the steel and for the rough cuts take a grinder smooth them out to your satisfaction and throw some spray paint on it.....
